Of course. Christians are charitable to avoid hell, atheists are charitable for the sake of being charitable.

I wouldn't want to put anyone down for being charitable! But the atheist's motives are pure, whereas the christian may have more than one purpose in mind. Still, if you do good things, you should get credit for it even if you do have an eye on the sky.

If they are both doing charitable work ... mmm neither are serving their own purpose ... they are doing what feels right to them and whether you believe in God or not ... doing something nice is always a good thing and helps the world out

No. A Christian does not act charitable to please God or to receive blessings from Him, although it does please Him. We do it because God loves each and every one of us and because He does so, we love Him and His creations, Christian and non-Christian alike. "We love, because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19)
