Isn't this a good strategy for religions to make people fall in line. Educated adult minds are supposed to me mature enough to reason and accept - arent they?
I am God must be laughing at this strategy adopted by hard lined religeous fanatics, what do you think?

True true true- i sounds like a arrogant school teacher. I know most people here would not agree to this fact. You shud delve into Hinduism to dicover a tolerant religion- its very very different

I think that no one is 100% good, so if that is the strategy, heaven must be pretty empty. There is the clause that if you repent your sins, they will be forgiven, but then again, who's laughing? I can do the worst thing in the world, rape, kill, steal and injure, and all i have to say is "Hail Mary" Someone, somewhere has a sense of humor!!

I think you have to be open-minded to accept Christ. You have to be willing to believe in something you cannot see. Christopher Columbus believed the world was round, but no one believed him - and they were all proven wrong. Do you have to believe in Christ to be a good, moral human being? No. I know plenty of atheists who are great human beings without the fear of going to hell. I am a good person because I believe the Lord wants me to treat other human beings with love, compassion, and respect. Does that make me uneducated or brainwashed? No. Your lack of belief in God does not make you right. Consider for a while that you may be wrong. Where will you spend eternity?

A parent could possibly say to his son, " Hey look if u don't stop this I'm going to throw u out of the window". Does that mean he's gona do it. Nay. Similarily these are required to keep people in check, without these I think world would be devoid totally of good people.

Only by grace can we make it into heaven. The Bible clearly says that we are not saved by our works lest anyman should boast, also our works are like filty rags. No matter how much good we do it cannot give us a pass into heaven. Only through the blood of Jesus are we saved and after we are saved then our works will automatically be good works not before.

I completely agree with you. One day, some person thought "Hmmm....how to get followers....Oh! I know! I'll invent a place called HELL where this evil guy called THE DEVIL lives! Yeah, that'll work! Surely, with the threat of everlasting pain, people will DEFINITELY follow our religion! Otherwise, if we didn't do this, people would see Christianity for what it REALLY IS: supression of all things enjoyable, thereby leading to a dull, boring, plain life where EVERYTHING is AGAINST GOD!" If you ask me, that is a form of terrorism: Scare people into following, by saying "I am God and I love you, but, IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW CHRISTIANITY, I WILL SEND YOU TO A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL BURN FOR ETERNITY!!!!!!" The truth is, God is a cold hearted bastard that loves NO ONE. Don't fall for his crap. Turn your back on God and enjoy life to the fullest. Do anything and everything you want. Have fun, and spit on God. :)

Nobody was, is, or can be perfect. Nobody human, that is. Only God is flawless. Being good is no guarantee that one is going to heaven, only faith in God is a sure way. Sure, hardliners are indeed hoodwinking the naive into thinking this way, so that they can manipulate them.

I think everyone should shut the hell up bout their religous beliefs. sure we all believe something different. it does'nt matter. I could give a sh*t how or what you or anyone else believes. It only matters to me what I believe, and dont care if you or anyone else agrees. Now theres a concept.

I agree.

We should serve God because we want to and not because someone says that they will be punished for ever by a God of love.

That concept does not fit in with the God I worship.
