Religion

Islam does not recognize the nation state. That (and civil nationality) are Christian ideas. Jesus spoke of giving "unto Caesar", etc.

Islam thinks of the Umma -- the Muslim community. And Islamists think of the khilafa -- the Califate, first headed by the Califs, successors to Mohammed (although the Shia differ on that point, rejecting Umar the Second Caliph). Sovereignty belongs to Allah.

Jews, living in the Diaspora, accepted the Christian notion of nation. And at the Grand Sanhedran, called by Napoleon, they formally accepted the Civil Code.

So: Christians and Jews find no reason to choose; there is no inconstency, no conflict. Muslims don't choose because they find no authority in the State to begin with, although they may accommodate it so long as it serves their interests to do so, until the final Jihad.

(I leave aside the issue of sects such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, who do reject the authority of the civil state, and who, like Muslims, consider that sovereignty belongs solely to God.)

Religion!

well, probably my religion. but since i dont have a religion, persay, right now, i would choose the state, unless i didnt agree with whatever direction they were moving in.

in most places church isnt seperate from state though. I mean, sure, it says we are but i guess with freedom of religion, freedom FROM religion would also be nice. I think right now religion plays a huge role in this country. I think the people in charge use it as a tool to influence people.

none of us should forget that the earth we live in is a temporary place for all mankind. one day, irrespective of who we are, what we are, where we came from and what we belived in, the whole of the mankind has to face the Lord. so naturally i'd like to go with God.

but Allah also says that -- 'be loyal to the hand that feeds u', so in that case, only if i find the nation is correct and right, will i go with my country.

if the Govt of a nation is opposing what the Faith teaches then i wont support it. but supporting or not supporting a nation also depends on the no:of people that would like to voice their views and opinions.

I would choose religion because why are you going to care when you died about the nation state. That doesn't matter when your dead.

I choose my faith. A nation-state is part of the Antichrist's plan for population domination on a world-wide scale. Anyone who pledges allegiance to such will be damned forever!
