No. America should listen to Bill Mahr, Tony Blair and many others: treat terrorism as a criminal conspiracy, like organized crime, and stop using it as a convenient excuse to erode the human rights of people with no likely connection to it.

And to the PC people: not being "politically incorrect" doesn't mean harassing old ladies in wheelchairs and the guide dogs of blind people. None of the terrorist bombers were old ladies or blind, although I admit there is in Britain a blind terrorist planner with hooks for hands, Abu Hamza. He, however, is both unique and already in prison.

The famous German socialogist Prof.Klaus Mehnert classified Western and Oriental cultures broadly in his book "Peking&Moscow" based on sociological patterns. He observes Western as 'Fear culture' and Oriental as 'Shame culture'. This observation is often verified in western history and behavioural patterns of people since Roman colonization of Europe. The Germanic people had to bear and fight against Roman domination and hence the expression 'fight' ( ger.kriegen). Hitler exemplified this fight as a campaign exploiting fear culture of people in the extreme application of terror benumbing all human rationality and good reason and thus according 'state- recognition to it. After ww2 fear culture has become a global phenomenon inspiring revolutions with terrorism ruling the roost. America fought gallantly during ww2 in eradicating european terrorism but has been unsucessful aginst countering that arising due to Conviction of religious faith or philosophical indoctrination such as communism. This can be understood because of the fact that physical human existence and actions are controlled by subtle mind programmes and mere fight in physical plane cannot permanently erase convictionally entrenched programmes brought forward and sustained in successive genarations. If we want to fight against something the other also seeks some vantage point to oppose as a nature's law. But if we seek to resolve an issue at the highest order of subtlity we have to make many sacrifices before assembling on a common platform for which purpose the U.N is instituted . Let us hope that human ego is overcome and the fruits of scientific progress be enjoyed by all people for the lasting benefits of humanity.

***is america doing the right thing against terrrorism?**

Yes and no, it would not hurt to kick Saudi Arabia a few times. After all upwards of fifteen of the hijackers were said to be from there.

Yes and no.

I wish terrorism was easy to defend againt, but it isn't. We are vulnerable at all times. Our efforts to thwart this action is not going to succeed. We will simply slow it down.

I believe the only way to battle this type of militant action is to bring back our black-ops in force. Focus on Homeland security, drop aid to countries that harbor terrorism and to countries that take and not give back.

We will never stop terrorism. The hardest part about stopping terrorism in America is doing it without supressing freedoms and rights. We could do all the prevention we want but that hole will always be there.

Absolutly no. For America they want to be the master above all other contries and they know what they r doing is wrong. All the big terrorist group here is created by America only for diffrent purposes & once America's intension is finished it will discard that group & talk againt that group. There are lot of Eg. for such terrorist groups. 90% OF American people r against its aprroach to terrorism.

We are fortunate that America was the one that actually stood up against terrorism, if not, we would have been waking up monthly to 9/11 after 9/11. Terrorism has existed long before Bush and we did nothing to be attacked by Muslim extremists who desired to kill innocent Americans, they will do it again if given the chance as shown by the plot to blow planes up over the Atlantic. Put Democrats in power and that will probably become a reality.

Well, I take a very straightforward view of this. America can either fight terrorism or give in to it and wait to be hit again like we were on 9/11. Personally, I would rather fight.

And, by the way, my husband works in a supporting role for an Association helping military families who lose a loved one in active duty, so I see first hand the cost of war. But even the cost of action is worth it when you compare it to the cost of inaction.

If you're talking about what's going on in Iraq to be the right thing against terrorism I say absolutely not. I think the current administration is missing the mark on terrorism. I don't think our presence in Iraq is keeping terrorists from attacking us here at home. I think if we utilized our troops and intelligence better on our own soil we'd do a much more effective job. Just my opinion.

What we did before was before 911. Now they can't operate as they used to. They are on the run always... unless they're in Syria or Iran.
We have the right to protect ourselves even if it means going after them when they have shown that they show no mercy and kill indescriminately just because someone is American or non-Muslim (even Shia or Sunni each other). They are killers. America would be doing something wrong if they were trying to kill off someone just because of their beliefs or culture. Saying that their belief is to kill Americans is not a legitamate belief sorry.

It makes me sick when I see people say that we are the biggest threat to the world. What did we do? Are we a threat because we are trying to stop terrorists and we are trying to protect ourselves? We are doing the right thing. Look at all the terror plots we and are allies have stopped. Sure, Bin Laden is still not dead, but many other terrorist leaders are.
