She occasionally squats and looks like she is peeing but when she gets up there is a mucusy discharge that looks dark red when dried. The discharge has no smell to it at all. She only does this once in a while, but she has done it all her life (she is 4). What is this discharge. It is never in the same spot. She is a dominate female so she does occasionally spray by the front door. She is spayed so I don't think that she is in heat, but she kind of acts like she is. She has been crying a lot lately and trying desperately to get outside, but again she is spayed so why is she acting like this? Help!!

You really need a vets input. Go to a vet website and ask this question. She may have a chronic bladder or kidney problem.

It sounds like she has a urinary tract infection. She needs to be seen by your vet asap. You said that she is spayed but acts like she is in heat, perhaps when she was fixed the doctor that did the surgery did not completely remove her ovaries. If any part of them is left behind it can still effect her hormones and cause heat cycles. Either way, have her seen as soon as you can. If it is an infection it can worse quickly!

Maybe she is having some occasional bowel trouble? My cat has issues and she cries a lot as a result, usually right before or after trying to use the litterbox.

Since she's been doing this all her life, what does your vet say?

She sounds like she has a medical issue and should be seen by a vet. Any type of bloody discharge is not normal. I can't beleive you have let this go on for 4 years. It could be as something as simple as a urinary tract infection but she could also have stones associated with it

She's got a urinary tract syndrome. Usually it shows up in neutered males, but females can get it too. Take her to the vet- This stuff is painful and can be fatal!

Sounds as if she has infected anal glands. Cats don't bleed "in heat." Please take her to the vet for a round f antibiotics and professional draining. From now on she will need drained once or twice a year. Cold, wet cotton ball compresses might help relieve her pain until you can get to the vet. Remember- NEVER give your cat ANY human medicine- they are more sensitive than babies.

Maybe she still needs to get some, its a possibility that the spray has diluted itself, take her to the vet.
