Hi,
I had my baby in Florida, i had problem during pregnancy that doctors found out later, then i think a lot of things during my delivary went wrong, but i didn't know, because i was young, and a single mother, and the medicaid paid everything, so i suspect that they knew that know one would follow them anyway, i had a baby boy, who had a problem with the suck and swallow coordination, they kept him at the nursery for a week then discharged him, telling me that the baby is normal, then i went to his pediatritian, for like five visits and i kept saying that the baby cries a lot, but she said that's normal, anyway on my last visit, i told his perdiatritian, if it's ok to fly with him, because i wanted to go overseas, his father wanted to see him, i thought maybe we would get married after he sees his son and everything, so she said it's ok. and at his 40 days of age i flew to his dad, then the baby started to grow up, and we began to notice that he dosen't follow objects and then he

honey u need to get ahold of ur local welfare office for him to get back on medicaid. from there i wold try to get into a agency for mentally /physically handicapped children, they will be able to help u out with watching/school so u can get a job. i use to work for one in Pennsylvania. Then i would go to the ssi office and they should be able to help u out with some type of monthly payment because of his diability. I really hope this helps...GOOD LUCK

As the woman said before there are offices you can visit to reapply for medicaid and get help for your child. There is usually a county office for medicaid/assistance and once you apply there they may be able to point you in the right direction. When you go you need to show a lot of paperwork so be prepared, like SS card, driver's license, yours and your son's birth certificate, a marriage license, your latest bank statement, a letter from your uncle saying he provides shelter and pays for it, the title to your car if you own it, maybe a few other things. Then you may have to look up a developmental disabilities division for your state which will have a budget that they use on special cases that you might fall under, help give you money or devices or home health aids for your son, if he in fact has a disability. Try searching for an office like this on the internet and try typing in all the symptoms that your son has and try to narrow down what he may have. You have to really become familiar with all this stuff really good because doctors down give a crap and the medicaid office will drop you like a fly if you don't show up every 6 months to update your info to extend coverage. And also if your husband/boyfriend is an American citizen you should easily be able to get child support and back child support for the last 3 years. Better get on that asap! I don't know if you can get child support if he is a citizen of another country, just call a lawyer up and ask or just go in for a free consultation and see what they say. You can pay a lawyer for the whole process or you can become proactive and visit the county court website and print out all the forms online or pick them up at the office and just get the ball rolling. Good luck! It's hard but be strong, for your son's sake.

There are programs for single mothers that provide medical coverage, and even occupationsal therapists for your son, (these are people who will work with him to strengthen his motor skills).

What exactly is the problem with him that you have? I mean babies cant really follow objects until theyre around 3 months old, and even then its not very well. then cant really move themselves around well until 6-8 months, and some babies are even slower than that. Have you been able to get him evaulated by any doctors or anything? How old is he now?

Every child needs 24/7 care, but if you're a single working mom there are always free church day cares, or state funded child care, theres also wic and welfare, medicade, that sort of thing.

You'll have to call the official offices for those departments when you get back to the states, find out what all you qualify for.

If the father is over seas in the army you need to have him taken to court for child support. Either way you should try to make it official that he needs to pay for some of the cost of raising the child.

If he had problems with the suck and swallow reflex as an infant and then he cried all the time that would make sense, he would have had colic, which results in non stop crying.

Anyway, its a hard road, but its not impossible. There are government agencies that can help you out until you get on your feet again.

My son had a developmental delay when he was a baby. He's all caught up at 2.5. Just give your little boy time to catch up. You may want to see if your state offers help for children with developmental delays. Here in AZ, we did get help through the state although it didn't help much. You should ask your pediatrician.

If you go to the state of florida for help they have programs out there for advice on how to handle dealing with children with disabilities but you should take him to the doctors and find out what kind of disabilities your child has then talk to your doctor about what you can do to sooth your child for example try to play classical music like kenny g wich has a soothing affect to children or buy baby mozart dvds to allow your child to watch and that should start him on how to follow objects with his eyes but it sounds like maybe there meight be a stage where the child meight be handicapt in some ways but make sure to get the child the best doctor to make sure and run some testing on him to see for sure what the problem is with your child and in the mean time work with him and play your chils some classical music witch helps the childs brain devolpe as shown in studies

Take him to another doctor for a different opinion to see if they say the same thing. Try to look for centers that help out they have different programs that you can put him in while you work.

You should still be able to have medicade for your child
even if you do have a job.
File for child support,If he is in the military you and your
child will be well taken care of.

well if you're married, i wouldn't divorce him so that your son stays under his medical plan or if you do get divorced or aren't married, then file for child support and request that he pay the medical insurance.
