It was her 20th birthday and he never even called her... they live in the same town, and our mom died about four years ago. And he forgot! How awful is that?

Wow, I hope none of you people ever have children.

Oh, when he finally figures it out - especially if you remind him - your sister will be in for quite the "apology gift!"

My folks forgot mine one year, and they went all-out to make up for it....I made sure of that.

undesirable concept. You obviously do not understand the way insignificant birthdays are to a pair human beings. the guy probably forgets his own birthday some situations. i understand I do. yet another element you do not really get is that an excellent type of persons do not extremely get a lot praise from their fathers. this is organic and also you'll finally understand why... per chance once you develop up a touch.

I agree with shpicey, why did you not remind him? I know it's a pain having to remind people about things, but surely it's better for you to have a mini irritation rather than her be hurt?

He'll make it up to her I'm sure but don't be too mad, my family forgot mine years ago (as did my friends until half way through the school day) but it's funny now and something to use! lol

that's sad!!
I have this "method" I use for my brother that may work for your Dad in the future, I call my brother and tell him it's Mom's or Dad's birthday in the next few days, but not too early where he'll forget, he'll usually say Oh! thanks for reminding me, Or I'll just say what are you getting Dad for his birthday? or guess what (my boyfriend) is getting me for my birthday? it always works and it saves a lot of hurt feelings.
I'm sure your Dad didn't mean anything by it!! if you haven't yet just call and talk to him and gently remind him that he forgot.
he can still pull it out of his hat (better late than never!)
I'm sorry about your Mom, I'm sure it's been rough on you all.

How's your sister feel about it?
Someone should talk to your dad, (probably you) let him know he missed her birthday and she was upset by it. Then ask him if everything is alright with HIM. Try not to blame so much as determine why he missed it...but someone should bring it to his attention before your sister carries a grudge and/or your dad withdraws from the family, be careful.

bring up your sisters b-day in a conversation,he might have not realized he missed it,we have a large family so I always let my dad know whos b-day is coming up,so he can give them a call since we live all over the place and I live closest to him.I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose.I hope she had a good b-day,other than that.

Some people are just terrible at remembering dates. If you're so good about remembering, you might take the initiative to remind him next time.

Guys are not as good at remembering dates, partially because they don't have the same level of emotions attached to everything.
