yeah i would say don't drink but then i wouldn't be practicing what i preach coz i love to party.
ok i don't usually get hangovers no matter how much i drink... when i do here's a few tried and tested remedies complements of some friends and myself:
have a tomato juice cocktail the next morning, or
take a really strong painkiller and drink loads of water, or
sleep, sleep and more sleep, or
a hair of the dog that bit you..( when drinking ur body craves it the next morning, hense when you have a hair of the dog u giving ur body what it wants and u won't feel as bad anymore.... but this means ONE not half the bar again..;-) )
or as we tend to say the best way to avoid a hangover is to stay drunk.... meaning there will be nothing but hairs of the dog, so why not just get the whole dog and bite it right back.. ;-)
good luck and don't forget to eat too

Aww hangovers...had many of those in the college days..not so much anymore but here ya go......sleep is your best bet but I've used a couple other things to help me get moving the next day...drop an alka seltzer in a glass of water and chug...then go take a shower...i usually felt better with that one....sometimes i would drink a caffinated soda when i woke up...calmed my stomach and stopped the pounding in my head. I've also ate just bread or a bagel when i woke...seemed to absorb whatever alcohol was left in my stomach.....And finally one thing i did so i WOULDN'T wake with a hangover...i alternated water and beer....like if i had a couple beers i'd drink a glass of water...and repeat...the water will balance hydration with the dehydration the alcohol is doing to you....and will make you feel more full so you wont be able to drink AS muc alcohol as before. I usually did that one when I knew I wouldnt be able to sleep it off the next day.

My ritual is burnt toast, a multi-vitamin and lots of water before bed.
Here's why:
The carbon from the burnt outside acts as a filter to help sweep away toxins. (They use the same idea for victims of alcohol poisoning in the emergency room, except those people get a much more potent carbon mixture pumped into their stomachs.)
The bread helps to absorb some of the alcohol.
The multi-vitamin helps replenish vitamins A, B6, C, potassium, and others which are lost during alcohol metabolism.
The large quantity of water, necessary to down the vitamin and get the burnt taste out of your mouth anyway, helps with the dehydration.
You actually fight the three major causes of a hangover with this: acetaldehyde (the toxic by-product of alcohol metabolism), dehydration and nutrient depletion.
Cheers!

yes before you go to sleep, always either drink water or take an advil or something like it. WORKS EVERY TIME, THE KEY IS DOING THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP NOT AFTER. A headache from a hangover is simply your brain dehydrated (it needs water) the rest of your body is just hurting because its trying to get the rest of the toxins out of your body.

Bullets work well. Or you could take a zantac before going to bed. And drink plenty of water to rehydrate your body.
