Disclaimer: I am an agnostic.

So, a beam of light exists in the physical universe, and when a mirror is help up in its path there is a reflection, indicating to me that the beam of light has physical properties and can be influenced by the physical universe.

I theorize that the soul is a similar beam of energy, that it has physical properties, that it is able to influence the physical universe because it is of the physical universe.

To sum, I contend that when I die my soul will be subject to the gravity, and will orbit the Earth or the Moon or the Sun, or something like this, and many people are saying to me that that doesn't make sense, that a soul would not be subject to the laws of nature, and that it would travel to the center/God/other - a different theory from mine, which is dependent on the idea that the soul has physical properties - including mass.

Would you be able to think about this for a moment and then answer what you think. Don't need religious lectures.

I don't think your soul will be subject to gravity. If a soul had enough mass to be subject to gravity, wouldn't it have enough mass to be felt leaving your body? I see it more like a radio wave, sending your energy out into the universe. It would be subject to some physical laws, but I don't think gravity would be one of them. And who knows? There may be a whole separate set of "laws" that govern the soul energy.

This is all, of course, assuming we have a soul that exists after death. And we won't know till we get there =)

Very interesting thought. And it could be just as possible as any other well thought out theory. I have seen documentaries that were about our souls or chi and how a body weighs less after the life energy departs from it. Stories of ghostly encounters also support your theory, because the ghosts are almost always seen standing or walking like they are affected by gravity as the living are. So does this mean we won't be cruiseing the cosmos together someday on a spiritual field trip? Damn, I was kinda looking forward to that.

The best I can do is refer you to an excellent book...

It is called; The finding of the third eye.

By; Vera Stanley alder.

I can't quote the entire section of the book that explains this and I was never really any good with the summery so...

It is a great read. very intelligent... not too corn ball or metaphysical. It actually has scientific premise to it, it is inexpensive and available in paperback. Check out red wheel wiser books, they probably have it online.

I can also share a recurring dream that I have. It is a courtyard- type place made of what seems like alabastar and there is a being in this room (place) whatever it is? that is quite illusive, he is made up of luminescent, opalline light and is in the form of a man like shadow, only white light emanates from it.

I understood upon having this drem that this being is a soul force, or an angelic type being, In hiding and running from me it was understood that it wanted me to follow it, and it hid behind shining pilliars as ran after it. I am supposed to catch up to it and ask it a question, but I never can (or do) not sure?

I believe that it is what soul force might look like to the human eye's understanding of light refraction... Opalline, irridescent, luminous, liquid, light that contains the full spectrum from infra red to what we see every day.

It is a vivid dream, in bright colors (which we're not supposed to have but I am weird so...) and in seeing this really cool being, I think that is what the soul force might look like? But it is a dream so who knows?

I believe that the Soul transcends the limitations that nature imposes upon our senses and that we only have them (senses) because it is a human way to exist as a soul powered being in a climate and with objects and interaction so that we can have an understanding of common form and function, something we can create and that is maluable and manipulated and that can be perceived in a group to enable the ability for us to relate...

Does that make sense? I don't think the soul force requires that kind of relation... I believe that it is intelligent and is kind of hardwired to grasp the fact that everything vibrates and is just a swirling controlled mass of atoms under the conditions of gravity and scientific principal.

Another great read (if you love to read like I do?) is a little book called The Kybalion By Hermes

I think That soul might have some physical properties
but you will never discover it. because it obays a complete diffrent physics which is beyond our mind capabilities ( u have to admit that yr mind is limited)
Complete diffrent mathimatics, non of the rules that u ever learned applies on souls.
Thats why souls issues are handled by god only
Plus what r u going to gain of this studies (nothing). Human souls will show up in new generated cells for new created babys in there moms. souls will leave the bodys on the death time and they go back home to the creator (god, allah) where they take what they deserve

When you die you rest in the grave until the resurrection when Jesus returns to this earth to get his people - 1 Thessalonians 4. The Bible clearly states the soul is made up of both the body and the breath that God breathe in our nostrils read it in Genesis. The immortality of the soul is a lie and a deception of the devil. God clearly states in the Bible that the soul that sinned will surely die. I would invite you to read your Bible and also the links below could shed some more light on subjects including the state of the dead. Hope that you are willing to seek truth.

Good morning Jim :) In thinking about this, I have a theory that the soul will be both subject to the the laws of the universe and not subject to them, at the same time. A paradox, something we cannot fully comprehend with our limited human mind, sort of like the Q on Star Trek. Since I'm a Christian, I believe that the souls who are written in the book of life will be one with God in such a way that we will have the freedom to 'be' in whatever form we wish. We could sit with God and chat, or orbit Pluto, or travel out beyond any part of space that we know, or crawl into a rabbit hole and head to wonderland with Alice...anything goes, basically :)

The universe has laws and we are subject to them. The laws of the universe are collectively negotiable because we make them-but that's another issue.

The laws of nature (Gaia) are a contract that we have bound ourselves to. Upon death your soul will be released and then you can go home (wherever that is) or some other place that you have negotiated.

I don't know the laws and cannot comment on the details.

The soul affects the physical world, while the world cannot affect it. See how the sun affects the earth, while the earth contributes nothing to it.
The soul is the light more powerful than the sun.

I don't know what the soul is like, but I can see where it would be something similar to a laser..physical but invisible without the right equipment. I'm not sure what will happen after death but what you say does have sense.

We are humans and we think in the patterns based on what we have seen around us. Today if you ask anyone to draw an alien they will draw a figure with hands and legs and face and thats what i mean my 'limited perception'. Soul is not an object or a form, its your own conciousness and your own self which is in sync with the universal power whome we call God.
