Why do some people think it is ok to write on the walls in a public restroom or leave a mess?

Don't you know that an underpaid employee has to clean feeces off the floor whenever someone leaves a mess? If you don't want to clean up a mess like that then don't leave any type of substances on the wall or floor.

I'm sure some of you males may think it is funny to leave a mess but put yourself in the employee's shoes for a second quit thinking about yourself. Why would anyone find it funny anyway? I'm not laughing whenever I have to clean up after a customer and I'm sure you wouldn't be laughing either if you had my job

Doctor X- You are an idot and I hope you change your mind about it being an acceptable form of behavior. Some people don't mature when they turn 18 and you are one of them

Just for the record, I don't have a problem with cleaning the bathroom because an elderly or feeble Senior Citizen lost their balance and misted the toliet. (But most of those Seniors would clean up after themselves anyway) I'm only talking about someone acting like a jerk and leaving deposits of their body, thinking it is a joke when in fact it isn't a joke. Grow-Up people

I personally don't ever leave messes in a public rest room, or a hotel bathroom for that matter.. I always clean it up. But that's because I am a mother of 2 little kids.. and a wife of a man who acts like a little kid, and I know how messy bathrooms can get.. and I hate cleaning them...

I wouldn't want to be the maid that had to clean up the mess that someone made just because it wasn't their OWN bathroom and knew that they didn't have to clean up the mess.

I cleaned bathrooms in office buildings all over NYC for four years to earn my way through college. Far and wide the women's rooms were far more disgusting than the men's rooms. (I suspect it's because of what is called in the cleaning industry the 'hover effect' - many women are taught not to sit on the seat so they hover and things come out at weird angles sometimes, you could always tell when a office gal had sex on her lunchbreak by the trail she would leave inthe bathroom afterwards) That being said, I needed those bathrooms (and lobby, and elevators, and sidealk) to be messy otherwise I would have been sent home for the day, without pay. Yes it is disgusting but I got paid union scale and I had the choice not to do it.

Well, first writing on the wall is one thing, but when you are cleaning feces off the floor, that to me is just disgusting. And I agree, people should be a lot more respectful of people who have to clean up after them.

Instead of putting a question like that on here where no one can help you, why don't you put it in a newspaper along with an article of "people's disgusting washroom habits". You may make a difference to a few people.

Ah you have alot of anger and time on your hands, perhaps some good music and a funny movie, may I suggest "mel brooks" Bathrooms are meant to be two things clean or disgusting, what place you walk into and how they handle this will give you an idea whether to eat the food or even use the stall. It's quite helpful for disease prevention.

Because they have no manners (although their parents probably tried very hard to teach them to their children).

They also have no concern for others, whether the cleaning person or the person coming in behind them.

You referred to some men's behavior, but the same can be said about some 'ladies' leaving a mess on the seat when they leave.

UGH! Disgusting!

And not all men leave messes - My husband is very considerate that way, and I know of others who are as well.

I'm with you. I think it's disgusting and I won't use a restroom like that unless it's absolutely necessary. The people that right on the walls and mess have not yet become adults. To them, this is funny and it's a matter of what they can get away with. Unfortunately they don't become adults fast enough to stop this behavior.
You would never see a true adult write on walls, we've worked to hard to clean them and know what it is like. You would never see an adult mess on the floor, we have dignity that we have achieved through being an adult. We, as a true adult, have learned responsibility, something messers and wall writers have yet to achieve.

Because they don't have to clean it. It's just like at a restaurant - you wouldn't leave your dirty dishes all over the table like that and leave your trash on the floor because you'd have to clean it up. Some people just have no respect for themselves or for others.

we can't help it there are people in this world born without breeding and manners. that is how they were taught at home. and what more they brag and boast about it, trying to catch attetion. but for me they are just losers and i know they will go nowhere. they will just do those dirty things for the rest of their lives because they do not have anything to believe in. i don't think God even existed in their world. otherwise they should have figured out what is right and what is wrong.

UGH because their parents never teach them that defacing other people's property is amoral and borderline criminal. I can't stand it when people write on walls or trash hotel rooms. It is a simple lack of respect brought on by a lack of discipline and parental guidance.

Well people write on the walls so you will have something to read while you are dumping. I was in a stall the other day and there was a hole between the stalls, I was looking through the hole and this big penis hit me in the eye. My eye is still black and blue.
