Hi!

First off stop worrying.. When I was 19 or 20, I had the same thing happen to me. I would run my hands through my hair and I would get tons of hairs falling out. I started to panic and wouldn't even touch my hair unless I was taking a shower.

I became so obsessed/worried about it that I went to a doctor. The doctor explained that your body about every 10yrs or so goes through a change cycle which also means your hair. What is happening is you are losing some hair but you are also growing it too.. (you just don't notice). Probably about 3 or so months later, I notice that my hair wasn't falling out like it was and now it is completely fine.

If you are losing sleep and can't stop worrying, you can go see a doctor. There are some hormone disorders that can cause hair loss. If you can stick it out, I would try!

And if you need something to talk to more about it.. please shoot me an email!!!

Most people lose a few strands when they run their fingers through their hair. This is actually pretty normal. If you are not eating enough, on a constant diet, or struggling with an eating disorder, this may be contributing to hair loss (see link to article on eating for healthy hair below). If you're concerned, consult your physician.

Best of luck with your locks. :)
