what if you know there ip address can you do anything with that , or is it only possible if they open a email you send them , do they haft to open a a email to be able to install, a key logger or trojan . or is it possible to gain access to there pc any other way please help

What a key logger is a make a text file of everything they type on their computer. You could look at the file later and possible find information like what they said in their e-mail to their aunt. It would not allow you remote control of their pc. It would not allow you to damage their pc or to use their pc in any other way.
It would allow you pay a fine and serve time in jail as installing a key logger on someone elses computer is illegal. It is a felony that would remain on your ciminal record for the rest of your life. I'm sure anyone interested in hiring you will be pleased to know that you were a computer hacking.

It's neither totally impossible, nor an offence that would get you "serious jail time" in most countries if you have been a good boy up until now.... Windows xp firewall isn't Fort Knox!

if they were to get a trojan, or a worm, ports would be scanned and access to their computer would be gained. once your have access, anything could happen.
