Kicker, I think that you need to remember that the Roman Gods where with the romans, and were not all that into evangelising, and that there are Christians in many nations outside of yankland and pomeville.
Yeah, mate, yankland and pomeville are Aussie slang for America and Britain.

You cannot kill TRUTH no matter what. There will always be a fragment of reality that will keep the ball rolling until the return of Christ. I believe the fragment of true believers is getting larger at this time. A true believer is what I call sold out to reality. That means your faith is total. You know that you know that you know the TRUTH and God is setting on the throne of your being and Jesus is at His side. It is all about living in the will as a lifestyle and not a religion. It is day to day, going from place to place and ministering to the needs that God presents to you. Keeping yourself a willing vessel, and staying under the anointing so the ministries that are assigned to you will be dependable. "Always On", so to speak.
If the Japanese took over the World it would ONLY be because God allowed it, just as He allow the rains to come when Noah was doing his fragmentary duties. There would be purpose in it or God would intercede.

There have been many religions that have been around a lot longer than Christianity that are still around to day. I think that Christianity will become less and less popular as other religions have over time. But you cannot force any one to give up their beliefs they will just hold on to them all the more. Any time you try to force people to do something they usually do the opposite.

Christianity teaches that it will remain until Christ returns and gathers His followers to Himself. I'm personally looking forward to that, and hopeful He will take me, even though I don't deserve it. Japan is largely Christianized now-a-days, so it's unlikely to oppress the Christian faith. Christianity transcended nationalism before the UK and USA existed as political governments, and was a world changing faith. True Christians would die rather than renounce Christ, and that sent a powerful message to the self-serving populations of the world. I think that no political action will result in the total loss of christianity. I do believe that decline and growth can vary due to such influences.

Christianity exists with or without people. The world could blow up tomorrow and Christianity would still exist.
Christianity is the Truth, and the fact that there are some non-believers doesn't change that fact. You give too much credit to the abilities of people.

Bede was evangelizing the British Isles in the 600's. Christianity had been around 500 years then and is still around 13+ centuries later.

I think everyone's forgetting that there are Christians in Japan too. Not many, but at one time they were appointing their own bishops. Got into a whole bunch of trouble with the Vatican, and eventually most Christian followers were killed. But there are still some. Why would they destroy a religion that they allow in their own country? Besides, Japan is all about honoring your ancestors. I doubt they'd want to piss off yours.

No, I think that would give christians more fuel to keep their religion going. They would be the oppressed martyrs.
I think christianity is waning now. Christians see it and become more fervent about passing their beliefs on to their children. And you know children, they rebel.
Christianity will be around for a very long time, but I think we've seen it hit it's peak, and it's on the way out.

It could never happen.
The Brits would kick their arses back to where they came from :o)
But for the sake of argument, if we *ALLOWED* the Japanese to have a say, I doubt western religions would last many minutes. We'd probably all be Buddhists or something. Which would be fine by me.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm....

That is hard to say I know that christianity is difficult for those in China and many have lost their homes and lives over it. I am not sure about Japan. I think it may be easier there to be christian.
