He actually has a condition known as Peyronie's disease, and can cause serious problems later in life.
Be thankful you are normal, and forget the envy. I doubt the curvature has anything to do with his popularity, as people with this condition need to alter their position so that the penis enters the vagina in a straight direction. The sensation the woman feels is identical to a normal penis, the only difference is your friend is going to be performing the deed at a 90 degree angle.

It's all in how you use it and he obviously has found a way to use his.....the shape, size, girth really doesn't matter.....the L shape does sound quite interesting though. Don't be jealous....
