I have a dental implant about 18 years old, it just fell out the other day(all in one piece- the post and tooth). I would like to know if anyone knows of any type of adhesive or cement that would hold it in place?

The implant or the crown? If it's the implant you cannot glue that back in but it's urgent you get to the dentist to find out what happened. That implant should have been so bonded to the bone that it was part of the bone itself. The only way an implant after all these years would just fall out is if the bone deteriorated around it. This can happen if you do not keep the area extremely clean just as one can lose a natural tooth.

If it's the crown itself then you can use temporary dental adhesive to attach it temporarily until you can have it permanently glued back in.

Like what you said, it was done 18 years ago. Ask yourself: has your oral hygiene deterioriated? You know the answer yourself. There is no adhesive to hold an implant in place. An implant is 'planted' into your bone. Visit the dental office asap. =)

You need to see a dentist. I would think the bone the post was implanted into has deteriorated - trying to fix it yourself is not the answer unfortunately. Most glues/cements are toxic - whatever you do don't put stuff like superglue in your mouth!

You sure it's an implant and not a post crown?

It could be the abutment part of an implant.

Either way go see a dentist instead of asking on the internet!
