Just to set the record straight- The guy didn't say "The only good Indian is a dead Indian". He said "It seems that all the good Indians are dead".

From the web: Dee Brown's best selling book Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West (1970) contains a telling chapter with the gruesome proverbial title "The Only Good Indian Is a Dead Indian",[7] the word "dead" meaning both literal death, and for those who survived the mass killings, a figurative death, i.e., a restricted life on the reservation with little freedom to continue the traditional life-style.

It was Gen Philip Sheridan he actually said "The only good Indians I ever saw were dead" He was speaking of the American Indians not people from India. He statement then as it is today was wrong and very racists. If it were not for the American Indians white man would never of survived in this country. They taught him how to survive and their repayment was to be slaughter and hearded like cattle to live in small areas the white man allowed. Just imagine if someone came into your home looking lost and unknowing and you gave them food a place to sleep taught them how to survive and then they took over your house and told you that you could only have one room in the house in which to live the rest belonged to them. How would you feel???

And no I was not born in this mans time so I did not know him.

He's wrong. There are some great live Indians. Ghandi is dead though.
Probably Buffalo Bill or Gen. Custer.

You should delete that from your memory. I don't know why do you remember that - Americans banned the poor Indians from their own teritory. There are a lot of other agresive butheads in the world, including in USA, to apply this saying on them!

Oh, I know him, and it is so wrong for you to bring up my relatives. Nobody is perfect and to set the record STRAIGHT, he said, "It seems we could off all these Indians and still have time for strip poker"
