Well, as most etiquette experts will tell you, the only thing more rude than violating the laws of etiquette (i.e. chewing/cracking gum in this case) is pointing out someone's foible to them. It is clearly best to know that you are in the right in these type cases, and pity the offender for being so hopelessly uncouth. Just think how much you can laugh at them for their ridiculously gross behavior. Leave it alone. After all, it is in poor taste to make a scene.

I liked the first answer.. hahaha.. just slap them in the face..
But really, if you're in a store or something and someone is chewing their gum like they're a cow.. what does it matter? You're not going to see them again, and it's not like you have to put up with it all the time.
On the other hand, if it's a friend that you see quite frequently do what I usually do. If I have gum, I put it in my mouth and do the same thing. They usually get the hint without anything having to be said.

Depends.
Now the stranger at the store I'd say if your in line, grit your teeth and bare it it'll be over soon. If they are in an isle grab what you need from the shelf and hightail it out of there. Its not something to be concerned about. Even cases with the doctor's office remember that is somebody you will never be in the same room with again. Assuming they are just strangers and you are NOT their client.
That being said if you are going to be sitting by them, or in the same room as them on a regular basis you will want to bring it up. This would include family, friends, coworkers, and classmates. In this case try to bring it up in a more private manor. And bring it up gently. Like "I don't think you're aware of this but you kind of are chewing your gum loudly." Do NOT under any circumstances do it in a manor where others can overhear this. You don't want to single them out. you want to be GENTLE about it and keep these matters as private as possible.

That is one of my greatest pet peeves! I don't think there really is a nice way to go about it. If it's a close friend you can usually ask them to stop, especially if you do it in a friendly and joking manner. With an acquaintance or stranger though its much more difficult.
In my experience the best way to approach a potentially tricky etiquette situation like that is with lighthearted humor and a smile. For example, "Didn't your mother ever tell you it's rude to chew gum?" (with a smile).

If it's in a store, no, you can't be the gum police. If it's in your immediate work area on the job or with someone else you can't get away from, just look at them and with a big smile say, "Gee, sounds like you're really enjoying that gum!" Unless they're thick in the head, they'll get it.

If it's a stranger you just put up with it. When I was working with a woman that was forever cracking gum, I wasn't very polite.
I just said, Pat, stop cracking tha gum or get rid of it. Some people don't realize they are annoying others.

Well, I have two daughters who chew gum constantly. Two reasons: they chew to alleviate stress and to keep their weight down.
Yes, I too have 'heard' the snapping and loud chewing from them and others in public places. My response usually is "Excuse me, but your bubble snapping is a bit obnoxious." I usually get some smart retort but the person either leaves the area or keeps on popping! Public places are just that so you must deal with it one way or another.

You are right if it is me I can never leave the place because of someone else.
I beleive in saying the truth - and I would just tell the person please if you do not mind stop chewing/cracking the gum as it is irritating.

Personally i think if you don't know the person it is really rude to tell them to stop doing something b/c it annoys u. Lots of things annoy me but i can live. Especially if u are in public. It's a public place all the public is welcome. If cracking gum bothers you that much boycott gum sales.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/qadDG
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.
