While you eat food, you use Hashi (two sticks) other people use spoons or knives, some Asians use their hands.
Buy they all eat food.
Now if you want to pray God, there are many other ways, not only religions.
Religions made by humans and they are not as true as they say about it.
There is a power, full of Energy controlling this nature and Universe.
You just try to find it by yourself and connect it directly.
Why you want to surround yourself by stupid religions?
Don’t you see every day how many people are killing each other because of these stupid religions?
Don’t you see how much problems do we have in our world because of these religions?
My advice to you as 49 years old man teacher of University in sciences and physics, first try to know what is religion, after that you can decide about it.
You have to know firs what is food. Moreover, why we need food? After that ask people what food is good and delicious.
(My English has problems in Grammar but I hope I could show you the right way)

Hi Hitomi,
You haven't told why you are tired of Buddhism.
As I guess, you are interested in worshiping God in company of your fellow people, and some type of support mechanism where you can confide in priest and take their guidance which is probably missing in the monastry you are visiting.
While I cannot appreciate the idea of conversion, Christanity is more suited However even christianity has various sect some as or more retrograde than Islam, I would reccomend that you join a mainstream Church and one where you Know other people.
A really good church would be where you can pray, and are welcome to join the festivites while still being a Buddhist , if you can find such a progressive Church you are in luck.
That apart even buddhism has many sects or as I would say many ways of prayer and meditation which could be of some help.
Islam has wonderful teachings ( no alcohol is just one) however it is more suited to male population and most sects are pretty rigid in their beliefs and advocate restrictions on females, therefore is not suitable for you.
By the way I am neither Muslim, nor Christian nor Bodh so I can advise you objectively, any further queries can be sent to veeru_pahari@yahoo.com

I'm glad to hear that you are honestly searching.
It's all about the Documents. Nobody knows for sure who wrote the Koran, but it was most likely Muhammad the "prophet" through a scribe. The Bible (Old and New testaments) was written by 40 different men over a period of 1500 years and comes together in agreement on all the big issues of life. You can't even get 5 people to completely agree on Yahoo! Answers.
There is quite a bit of evidence that the Bible is accurate and true. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the only way. It's not a question of who has the better God, or better religion (I mean it is, but neither of these can be legitimately answered here.); It's a question of whether you believe the Bible or the Koran.

Hi My friend, though somewhat understandable, I am led to ask, Is that all you want out of life and have, or do you not now enjoy anything that can be counted as a blessing from God? Is what we want the highest aim in the universe, and should the God that holds everything together pander to our whims? How did you get here? That is: On this planet? Shall we not be thankful for even one day of life and thus seek to know the one who brought us into being, why we are here? Well in the words of the one you contemplate serving "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Yet with that we are told to seek Him for the right reasons and accept His decisions for our lives as best. I hope this helps. Take Care Walt

I would advice you as a friend to investigate about both religions and make your own judgement.
As a Muslim I would recommend you go to http://askmuslims.com and watch the videos as why people are converting to Islam and I highly recommend you read the Holy Quran with open mind. All in all its your call. God willing I hope and pray the God guide you the path of truth.
If you have any question regarding Islam please do e-mail me at askmuslims1@yahoo.com and God willing I will do my best to answer them.
Peace

Well frst of all deciding which religon u want to be apart of is a very big decision and not one u should let others make for u, if u know u want to take on either christianity or Islam but dont know much about either of the religons then u need to go and research them, because by asking others which religon to go in to ur going to get biased advice, christians will tell u to go in to christianity, and muslims will tell u to go in to Islam, and u may take their advice and go in to one of those religons only to find out what people have told u about the religon has been a lie and u are not likeing the religon and finding it difficult to follow!
Being a muslim ghirl myself I will tell you this much, muslim girls do have rights in Islam they are allowed to own their own property which no one else including the husband does not get a share of, the are allowed to work and any money they make they keep for themselves they do not have to contribute it towards the housing bills etc unless they want to because providing for the familuy is the husbands job, they are the ones that have to pay for bills food, etc. women are given many rights in Islam but then again this something u will have to research for urself. Also Islam is a more intense religon than christianity in islam u have to pray 5 times a day, dress modestly (not wear clothes that show the shape of ur body, cover the hair), however in christianity u go to church once a week and do not have to cover. I am a muslim and I love my religon and believ it is the one true religon, but I can not make ur decision 4 u u need to research both religons and make a decision for urself! Read the quran and the bible, read about the life and history of the prophet muhammed (saw) and Jesus (pbuh) I would also recomend u read some of Hurun Yahya's books, and some other books about christianity, also watch some videos abut people who have converted to islam and christianity and islam and see their take on the religon before making ur decision!
Heres a video to get u started:

Religion is not like buying shampoo. You can't get advice on which is "best" or set a list of criteria that you want to have in your ideal religion. Faith has to come from within, from thinking hard about what faith offers you and whether or not that answers the questions you may have about the world and your place in it. Bear in mind that you might conclude that no religion answers your questions satisfactorily, in which case you should consider believing in no god at all, if that seems most meaningful to you. On no account ask strangers on a site like this which religion you should choose. You would do as well to ask which husband you should choose. Think for yourself, it is the only way to real enlightenment.

although i am a christian, i cannot say that my bible is anymore or less relevant than the quran or the torah. all three books recognize that God, or Allah is the one true God.
the jewish torah does not mention Jesus. the islamic quran mentions Jesus as being a prophet of God, but not the Son of God. the christian bible believes that Jesus was Christ, come to earth in human form.
all three religions believe that Christ will deliver God's chosen at the end of times. The main difference is that christians believe that Christ was here once, as Jesus.
i dont envy you having to choose a new religion in this day and age. so many have perverted the Word of God, for their own benefit. This is true with any religion, but the "big three" get the best and worst press.
good luck in your spiritual journey.

Islam and Christianity both have practically the same idea: they both believe in the one true god, they both have their true and false prophets, and they both have a holy book. The Bible and the Koran are actually pretty similar- all that to say, neither is worse or better.
How about just living your life loving God, and your neighbors as yourself? Living for love is one of the best ways to live. All you need is love, because love is God- says so in both the Bible and the Koran.
You do not need to work in order to go to heaven. It's very simple- simply recieve God into your heart and life, believe that you have salvation, and you will go to Heaven.
