Oh, honey! Yes, yes and more yes!
I don't know about NJ, but I will tell you that I met my husband (single dad with full custody) after dating several single dads with full/joint custody by using internet dating sites like DreamMates, Yahoo Personals and Match.com.
I was a single mom with SEVEN kids, so try dating with that group - lol
One piece of advice: Do not involve your daughter in dates at all. Wait until you're dating someone for at least 6 months before bringing your daughter into the picture. Kids get attached to grown-ups, especially if they're the nice ladies that you're going to be choosing to spend time with... and children do NOT do well with a revolving door of partners wandering in and out of their life.
Ideally you would meet a woman who was a single mom (don't even bother to date anyone who's not a parent... they won't "get it" at all) and you guys would hit it off, spend time getting to know each other, if you get physical make sure it's an away thing... never at either home when children are present... no overnights... we're keeping it healthy for children every minute... and then after about six months, you do a picnic, trip to zoo, cookout, something really casual where "Today we're going to go hang out with a friend of mine and her daughter... we're heading to the zoo... remember the Monkey House? Cool, huh?" very casual.
I did this for almost three years... and the only guy who met my kids... was the one I wound up marrying :)
The rest of it is explained by "Yeah, Daddy's going to go have dinner with a friend tonight... so Sarah's going to come stay with you and you guys are going to watch a movie..."
Eventually you'll find the right ONE to bring home to your daughter and you'll be glad you waited :)
Uh... also... just so you know... single moms think single dads with custody are toasty hot! :)

I don't think the asker was specifically looking for a date here on answers. He asked where to go in NJ to meet a woman.
Yes, there are women who would date a man with custody of his daughter. But, that would depend on the attitude of your daughter. I have lots of friends who have dated single parents, male and female, and the kids were little terrors.
Have a talk with your daugher before you start dating and make sure she knows that SHE is the most important thing in the world to you & no matter how many "friends" you have you will never leave her. Always try to include her whenever possible.

It's pretty much joint custody here, i think. Lots of kids going back and forth each weekend and have set days up during the week. My daughter has a little girl on her soccer team with a single dad and his wife divorced him and he has sole custody of the kids. He's a wonderful father, somehow gets all the kids to the place he needs to be and is really active in his kids lives along with a job. I have a lot of respect for him. I really don't personally know any single mothers, i'm sure there are some at my daughters school and plenty at my kids middle school and highschool. But most divorced families i know have remarried and the custody is shared.

Yes i am sure that there are women who would want to meet a stand up guy like yourself. But i am from the caribbean so i wont be able to tell you where in NJ you can find them. But take note it's when your not looking that your most likely to find what you need.

As a single dad, I believe the best place to meet a woman is at church. Unless you do not normally go to a church.
Just do your normal activities, and you will run into women everywhere. The mall, the grocery store, the post office...

I'm sure there are. It should not matter if you already have a daughter. If a women can't take her in as well, then she is not worth your time. I think it is very cool and responsible, and it shows a lot about a man who is willing to raise his own. In time. I have three girls of my own and when I met my husband he did not care, he loved me for me. He has 2 boys and unfortunately I am unable to have anymore children. but we really don't need anymore. I hope this helps. Keep your head up....L.

Look in your area to see if there are some single parents groups. They can be a great resource for parenting tips, and you might just catch the eye of a single mom.

if I lived in NJ I'd consider you! Seriously, you might look for other women with kids. they will understand your lifestyle, and understand kids. That means you have to be open, too1
