As a christian myself it is wrong. I see it as your taking your life before God says your done. God decides when it's your time to go and he has or at least should have ultimate control of your life. God didn't give you life just for you to waste it. He died for each one of our sins and to give up on him is rejection towards him and by committing suicide your not choosing God.

As a Reincarnationist I see suicide as rarely a neutral act, although it can be. We are accountable for hurting others as well as ourselves, though, so even if we have achieved the purpose of the present life it's wrong to cause others pain. In most cases of suicide the motive is to escape obstacles, in which case the vicitim would encounter similar obstacles in future lives until the lesson is learned and the wisdom is attained.

Jesus taught reincarnation and karma.

It's wrong. GOD is the giver and taker of life.

I do believe though, that if you have accepted christ as your saviour, that you would still go to heaven. I know this contradicts the catholics and some other religions, but when christ died on the cross he died for all your sins. ALL the sins in our past, ALL the sins in our present and ALL the sins we will commit in the future.

While I think God would be deeply saddened that we would want to take our own life, I do believe that if someone is born again, they would go to heaven.

hi:}
i find it AMAZING that religions think suicide victims will go to hell [hell is here on earth by the way ].
people who commit suicide often are MENTALLY ill don't you think a loving God KNOWS that ????but oh no all these religions who claim to be so loving and knowing say the person goes to hell, don't you think these people were in a living hell ????
there is no way you can judge and tell families of suicide that their loved ones soul is now rotting in hell --------------geeezzzzz ,glad i don't have that kind of religion in my life .
the soul is eternal and each soul will in a way judge itself and i do believe from a re-incarnation point of view that some suicides will come right back into the flesh,so i guess some of you are right they go straight to hell ---------------back to where they were trying to escape anguish and pain -------------------but none of us know exactly ,,,,,and to label suicides as going straight to hell because god doesn't want them because they made an error -----------------boy i wouldn't want to live my life believing in that sort of unforgiving god ,,,,

The Bible clearly says "You shall not kill." Killing yourself is wrong and it is a sin.

As far as whether you will go to hell automatically for committing suicide (that is a common belief) I don't think any human being can say that. Only God knows these things.

Suicide is a perversion of life. All creatures want to live.

Duh! Of coruse you will go to hell for it and that it is a sin! God said specifically in the Ten Commandments to not murder. When you commit suicide you are violating one of the commandments and there is no time to say for God to forgive you beucase you will already be dead. You can't say it before or after so when you shoot yourself or jump off a building or soemmthing, you're killing yourself and God won't forgive you for that. Even if you ahd a good reason why you were sad and had to kill your self. There is no possible way to shoot yourself andhten ask God to forgive you cuz you'll be dead by then

"2325 Suicide is seriously contrary to justice, hope, and charity. It is forbidden by the fifth commandment.

2280 Everyone is responsible for his life before God who has given it to him. It is God who remains the sovereign Master of life. We are obliged to accept life gratefully and preserve it for his honor and the salvation of our souls. We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted to us. It is not ours to dispose of.

2281 Suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate his life. It is gravely contrary to the just love of self. It likewise offends love of neighbor because it unjustly breaks the ties of solidarity with family, nation, and other human societies to which we continue to have obligations. Suicide is contrary to love for the living God.

2282 If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.
Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.

2283 We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives."

It is contrary to the natural order and God's will and plan. It is a violation of the 5th Commandment, Thou shalt not kill.
