I have a 12 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. My son is ADHD, which is tough, but he does quite well on his meds. (Except A.M.) Anyway, it's my daughter. She is just so moody, argumentative, difficult!! I know it's mainly hormonal, because she is normally good, but I need help fast. If I can't figure out how to get through to her now... I just want to keep our relationship from getting ruined!!!

Mine is 12 and has ADHD. I wish I could help you but I can't even help myself.
I have a link that may at least tell you what you are to expect. And another one that will help her understand herself.

I do not know the name of the book but my sister has two daughters ages 10 and 12. She found a few books through the "American Girl" collection. There was a great one that dealt with all the changing emotions you deal with when your body is changing. It had great activities in it for the girls to do. It really helped all of them.

12 year old girls... Good luck. They are all hormonal and moody. Take her out for ice cream. shoe shopping. movies. bowling. swimming. get her in the car for whatever reason and just talk. or, rather, let her talk. In the car, she can't get away. DON"T take the 6 year old along. She needs time with just you but she may not know how to say that. Listen to her music. get to know her friends. My mom used to tell me we were going shopping for school clothes and drive to the next town, 75 miles away to the store there. That gave us all afternoon in the car to talk. We stopped for lunch and she got to hear all about how hard my life was without a boyfriend....
yea.... 12 year olds..... I'll pray for you.....

"Raising Ophelia" is suppose to be a good book for raising girls in all stages of life. It was recommended to me by a child psychologist. I haven't read it yet (my daughter is 2) but plan to.
