It can be hard when you are a teenager, you are not a kid or an adult... Although you have experienced some things you still have alot to learn, and although it may not seem like it but your parents love you and are just trying to protect you and do the best thing for you. Trust me, in a couple of years you will liook back and understand why your parents did what they did and will be grateful for it. All you can do is act maturely, help out with housework to show responsibility, all that sort of stuff... And maybe if you find a right way to do it have a rational talk to them about how you feel and maybe some arrangements can be made, like do chores and you will be rewarded, that sort of stuff... Good luck!!

Take on more responsibility. Get a job doing work around your neighborhood then by your own food, cook for yourself, wake yourself up every morning before school without your parents. Absolutely don't ask your parents for anything. Do better in school shows responsibility. When they treat you like a kid to them they are just responding to someone who they see as immature and dependent. It doesn't matter if you are 13 or 50. If you are responsible(Mature) and independent from your parents they have no choice but to treat you like a adult. Sadly, a lot of parents will ignore you new mature behavior just because they like the power of controlling a dependent person.

Honey, you are a kid. I am still my parents kid. I will always be their kid. Get used to it.
And I know you won't believe this, but they really do know what is best for you.. YES, all of the time...
Good luck and life will be easier for you if you would try to view things from their point of view.
I know it's hard we have all been there at some point in our life. Just remember you are blessed because you have "parents' and also they love you. BE GRATEFUL...
Just think of all of the kids who only have one parent, and the parent doesn't really care about them.. You have a lot to be thankful for. Even though it is hard to see right now.

Well, at 13, you ARE still a kid. And really, how do you expect to be treated when you are using a screen name like baby_girl?

Well, for starters, you are a kid, and you always will be your parents' kid. Really. I'm 18, and my parents still treat me like a kid sometimes. It'll get better as you grow older, but as of now, you are still a kid. Best of luck!

At 13 you are still a kid, you should make the most of it, it won't be long before you are grown up then your problems will start.

I tell my kids all the time:
If you act like a child, you'll be treated more like a child. If you act like an adult, you will be treated more like an adult.
In order to get your parents to trust you, you have to prove to them that you are capable and trustworthy.

You are a kid. You only think you know all you need to know. Trust me. At your age I thought I was mature enough to move out and live on my own. When I did move out, at 17, I found that it was not nearly as easy as I thought and I had a lot of growing up to do still.
