Cancer is not one disease but a series of related conditions which have in common the uncontrolled multiplication of particular cells. Just as there are many types of cells in the body, so there are many types of cancer and some cell types may even develop different types of cancer (eg. there is more than one type of skin cancer). There are also many causes of cancer and the cause may influence the type of cancer a person contracts.
With all this diversity, it is highly unlikely that one single "cure for cancer" will be found. Rather there will be a selection of treatments available which are targetted at specific types of cancer. Some of these have already been discovered and others are no doubt in various stages of development. No doubt existing methods will be further developed and refined as we increase our understanding of cancer.
I would guess that there are other potential types of treatment, perhaps using nano-technology or genetic engineering which at present exist only in the theoretical stage or in the imagination of scientists and researchers.
Most treatments for cancer depend for their effectiveness on catching the disease before it has progressed too far. And things are further complicated by the fact that different patients react differently to the same treatment. In this way, a given treatment may completely "cure" one patient but another will show no favourable response to the treatment at all. This means that a number of different treatments must be available for each type of cancer, depending on the progress of the disease and how the patient responds to the treatment.
This gradual process of refining existing methods and adding new ones will mean that at no time is it likely that scientists will be able to definitively announce that a "cure for cancer" has been discovered. Rather, they will perhaps one day be able to announce that every known type of cancer now has a selection of treatments which have, say, a 95% or better chance of success.

Well, cancer is not one disease.
Many types of cancer are treatable, with minimally invasive procedures. For example, Herceptin is an excellent drug for breast cancer. Prostate cancer in men, if detected early, can be treated and defeated. Unfortunately, other types of cancers (such as lung cancer) have much lower survival rates.
Each type of cancer is different, and operates via different biochemical pathways. That's why "one pill" won't cure all cancers. Science isn't miracles...it's hard work and the progress over the past 20 years has been phenomenal. Ask anyone who works in the field. But we still have a long way to go :-)

I don't think there's been a cure for cancer yet. But there are many ways to prevent cancer. If you know of anyone just diagnosed or is concerned about getting cancer, let them know that there is a natural supplement juice that works wonders with any health condition and it supports whole body health. there is a cure for cancer, but the government makes too much money off of sick people. the cure is in the stem cell technology. did you know that today, when a woman gives birth she has the option of freezing cord blood for future use for the child. it is a known fact that if the baby later on in life gets cancer, its own cord blood can be used to cure it.

I don't think so. Even the wealthiest person, once becomes a victim of cancer, he will surely have 2 - 5 years to leave. Like one of my wealthy friend, she was operated but after 5 months, she died. And here's another one. Last night she passed away. And she fought so hard for 2 years. All I could do was to simply pray for her. I could not even visit her for fear that I might bring with me some virus or germs.

Even if a cure had been discovered, do you think that they would actually release it for use? Think about it. Is it more profitable not to release the cure, or to release it? The bottom line is ALWAY MONEY.

If a cure has been found, no one will find out about it. The AMA and FDA will make sure that if someone finds a cure, they will be killed. It would just put too many doctors out of business.

No progress is being made in finding the cause of some cancers and treatment is progressing. Only conspiracy theorists who say the drug companies are keeping a secret say it exists.
