to pre heat means just turn oven on at the tempreture I want and wait for about 10 minutes and then turn off and put the food in side the oven???

First you switch the cooker on. Then you should probably arrange the shelfs the way you want them. Then turn the dials(every cooker will be different) to select the oven and the temperature you want and leave it until it heats up to the desired temp. It should have a light which will go out once the temp is reached.

You are joking? Oh well here goes, switch the oven to the temperature you want, and when it's at that temperature, the food can go in, 'cos the oven is pre-heated to the required temperature for cooking.

Put your shelf in the middle of the oven, then turn on to the temp you want to bake at. Some ovens have a "Preheat" setting, and you have to remember to turn it to "Bake" when you put your food in or it will not bake correctly. Others, it's all the same, and it will beep when it reaches your desired temp.

Turn the oven on to desired heat with door closed and leave it for 10 minutes........Duh!

to preheat an oven all you have to do is turn it on to the temperature you need and give it a few minutes

it isnt a daft question - we all had to learn this
