The recognition of the degerees ...Bachelors, Master's.....Seems like the same concept.

Actually, it is quite different. The term "degree" to refer to steps in a process is not restricted to Freemasonry or necessarily derived from it. The educational system is older than modern Freemasonry.

Acceptance into the freemasonry is complicated. The first thing is that their members must be 21 (18 on extremely rare cases), they must believe in a diety, and they must hold a management (or better) job position. Some say "anyone can join," but reality it is like any other fraternity where their members have a certain social status. I think there is one fraternity (college) that is directly connected to freemasonry, but overall I don't think many college students are freemasons.

Yes the college is a cult with its own conditions and terms. It is a not democratic institution. The pedants are much like freemasons keeping important knowledge close to their heart and leased only to the begging insiders. Education should be democratised, which is what internet is doing.
