This means your operating system if pirated. as long as you are using this OS it will keep giving the same message in the task bar, though your work will not be hampered. if you want to get rid of it you will have to get an original version of the operating system.
Microsoft has recently launched this verification tool which checks if the version of the windows u r using is original whenever you will try to download something from its official site or update ur operating system.

If all of the software installed on your computer was purchased by yourself from reputable software resellers you should have nothing to worry about. The message your getting is most likely a pop-up that invaded your PC without you knowing it. On the other hand if you A.) bought some discount software on-line at some incredibly low price chances are it was pirated. OR B.) had software installed that was "lent" to you.
Consider this: The message your getting only indicates that you should "get the genuine software", without indicating what software is suspected of being counterfeit. Sounds like a prank to me.

This is a new patch from microsoft that checks to see if your copy of windows is legal. If you are getting it you either have a non-regestered copy of windows or you may be having a known issue involving the patch not recognizing certian bulk or corporate keycodes. If it is the first problem you will need to have a valid copy to correct it .. if, however, you have a legal copy try downloading and installing a fresh copy of DirectX and this should solve the glitch.

All this means if that the operating system on your computer was either downloaded illegally, not registered, or you got it from a illegal source. I experienced this once, and there should be an option under system tools that says "Activate Windows". If not, the only way to fix this is to backup all of you files onto 1. CDs, Flash Drives, or external hardrives, and then buy a new operating system. Once done, just simply upload all of your files onto the new operating system.

if a friend loaded windows on your machine then they may have used a pirated copy and it's not genuine with windows. You have need to buy a copy of windows. If you have like a Dell or something that came pre-loaded from a business then you need to ask them about it.
