Since you're going to China - why not return to UK via Trans-Siberian Railway up through Vladivostock, Kharbarovsk and West via Chita and Irkutsk. You can either then remain on the train throughout back to Moscow or catch a 'plane which will take you back to Moscow/St:Petersberg and home from there

We did a similar route and included Peru. This is one of the most accessible of South American destinations - enough to give you a small taste of the rest of the continent. You can fly into Lima and then domestic flight onto Cusco. Rest for a couple of days in Cusco (it's high altitude so takes a little acclimitisation). Then do a guided tour over spectacular Inca trail over 3 days - make sure you book this well in advance, I recommend the company SAS for the trail, more expensive than others but so much better.
It makes for an adventure that isn't too too adventurous - perfect for the independent traveller who has a suitcase not a back pack.

What about going to Hawaii......it's still the US of course but probably not the most likely target. Otherwise maybe Canada...I haven't been personally but I would guess it's the next best thing!
I have to say though, I don't think you should worry so much. Anything could happen anywhere at any time. I'm scared of flying to but I still do it!

Go to Canada, mind you it involves flying. Apply for a visa for America and then you can cross the border in Niagara Falls.
If you want to stay in the area you're already in, why don't you try Luzon in the Philippines and Fiji, Australia and New Zea land.

All of Europe and Africa lie before you.
Someone I love very much successfully overame her fear of flying after a introductory course offered by Quantas. Your fiance might consider something like that, as it would make the trip much more enjoyable.

Yes, try Canada and you can still come across the border & see America without all the flying risk. Wherever you decide to go, have fun!

I don't blame him for being afraid of flying. Just a suggestion, I have been to Scotland and it is a lovely place. Except if you already live in the UK. You are welcome to come to America.

Why not Mexico or the Bahamas? Big with tourists and the snorkeling, I hear, is amazing.
