In Genesis, God created the Heavens and the Earth in the first day. So where did He and his angles live before this? Is the serpent Satan? If so, how does Satan’s fall from heaven fit in chronologically, does this happen between Adam and Eve being created and the eating of the fruit?

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

God Himself doesn't have an age. Time was created for us. God is outside of time.
Heaven and the angels were created sometime during the creation week.
Gen 1
31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Gen 2
1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

So, if it was finished, and very good, we know that satan did not exist at this time (as satan) but he existed as the archangel Lucifer. Read Isaiah 14.

Gen 3 is where the fall of man comes in and the serpent is mentioned. We read it as the next day because it's the next chapter. However, there was probably a considerable ammount of time between chapter 2 and 3. Some guess about 100 years or so. The reason for this is because outside of Eden, there were already other people. These could have only come from Adam and Eve so, there had to be enough time for many children to grow up and venture out on their own.

So, sometime after the creation, satan rebelled and was cast out. This is when he started his plot against man and used the serpent to tempt Eve. (Actually, he used Eve to tempt Adam) If Eve was the only one that sinned, there would not have been transgression on everyone. The commandment was to Adam, not Eve about eating the fruit.

First of all Lucifer as he was called in the Godly realm of the time, was an angel, or in definition a cherub. He was very favored of God and was made to set in high places. He decided that he was able to overtake God and a war broke out in the heavens. He was cast down to Earth and he took 1/3 of the angels with him. These are what we refer to as demons today. Satan said he would take over the Earth which he has done, only because God allowed him to do so, and uses satans plan against him. In that I mean that the ways of the devil will drive men to God. You can only walk in darkness so long before the natural desire for God must be filled. God is much smarter then the devil. He has only allowed satan to get to the point of believing he is running something. One day soon God will clean the slate and the humans that have made the right choice will continue on with the creation plans where ever they go. God has used satan to separate the wheat from the flax.

Heaven is 28 years old and Satan is a little older at 30 years old. Satan used to go out with Heaven a few years back when they were going through their 'wild days'. but now, both prefer a good episode of '24' and cup iof tea with their partners.

Heaven, despite a few failed relationships, fell for the Hounds of Hell a couple of years ago and is thinking about having Kids. Satan, on the other hand, is still single but seeing God on and off.

Before Heaven got together witht the hounds the angels used to be round athis place all the time, but the fell out when Go got with Satan and started getting pissed all the time with Satan.

Fruit, however, has nothing to do with anything. It is just a tasty snack every now and then.

Actually, I believe that Satan was a fallen angel.. so, before he was 'the evil of the world' , he actually stood by God's side. I don't believe that it ever really says where it happens, but read below and it could fit in at any point between " The first day, and the 6th day"

Also, I watched a program recently that said that the word that was translated as 'day' for the bible, actually meant 'million years'. What this means is that it didn't take God 6 DAYS to create everything.. it actually took 6 MILLION YEARS.. which would explain a lot actually.

How Old Is Heaven

HEAVEN is as old as all the good creations of God. God created all things and saw that they were good and called them GOOD, while SATAN is a little bit older than all the Good creations of God. Not too long after the creation of man, SATAN tempted him and things became bad and He remained bad.

The sky is young. The satan had to sin before he fell, so i'd say he fell much later than the sin.
