Water should start being offered at about three weeks of age. However, it usually takes at least a week for them to master drinking it. Regardless of how long it takes for them to start drinking it - please offer it - some pick up the task quicker than others. Their willingness to drink will also depend on how much they are still nursing from the mother too. Good Luck

About six weeks is the average age at which puppies can be successfully weaned and sold. You can check the teeth, really. If the puppy has grinding teeth and show an inclination to eat dog good, you can begin the process. If you own the mother, it's good to let her feed the puppy for as long as she wants. If not, and you just bought the puppy, it's best to check with the previous owners to see where she was at in the weaning process. A good progression is milk>wet food>puppy chow soaked in hot water>straight puppy chow. Pretty much as soon as your baby dog stops drinking milk, you'll want to provide water.

First of all the mother starts to wein at 3-4 weeks. Second a mother's milk does not dry up till they stop nursing. Just like a woman can nurse her child till its five years old because of the continuous stimulation to the mammary glands.
Puppies usually start with groul a mushy mess of water formula and puppy food. Once they start with their groul have water available for them. They should be starting to follow mom wobbling and unsteady at around 3-4 weeks and they will watch her drink and decide for themselves if they want it or not.
Sometimes mom doesn't push them to wein and you need to be prepared to help her. First set of shot should be given at 6-8 weeks and altered shortley after. They should be completely on hard puppy food and water by 9-10 weeks altered and ready to go to their new homes.

Mother dogs will begin weaning the puppies off of her milk around eight to ten weeks of age. Her milk will begin to dry up at that time, and they will start to want to eat puppy chow and drink water. This will generally happen naturally, and you will just have to begin putting down food and water for them around that time, so they will get used to it. Best of luck with the pups, bet they are cute!

as pups eyes are closed for 10 days after they are born, there's no point in giving the water before this ,i would wait until pups are steady on their feet then i would put it in a shallow dish just to be safe .around 3 weeks i guess.
