The US is a very big country so think about what it is you'd like to do and then do a little research.

Last week in January it will be pretty cold. Miami, San Diego, LA, Las Vegas, Phoenix (and see the Grand Canyon) would all be pleasant weather wise.

Bad places to go during that time are definitely anywhere in the midwest, like Chicago or St. Louis.

New York is fine, though it will be cold, but there are tons of indoors things to do like Broadway plays, museums, shopping, and fine dining. It's pretty empty around then and you can get some good hotel deals and theater tickets should be available.

Just got back from there...and wow...wonderfull....but a few days is enough!!

I stayed at the Hampton Inn on 8th Street...very central and only a couple of minutes walk from Broadway.

Goood weathe ris always nice so consider Miami, Law Vegas, or LA. They are all good and you can travel nearby.

dont do florida cos of the hurricanes, chicago is a great city
