I've made it clear how I feel, and I know she really likes me. Earlier she was with this guy who cheated on her and now I think she's afraid to commit. Any suggestions on how I should proceed with this ?

just don't push her. she's probably not ready for a relationship or else she still loves the guy and you can't do anything about it. if she tells you she likes and backs out then maybe she's just trying to tell you that she likes you but not to go out with you

Sorry, not a lady, but thought I would chime in. First of all, if she was hurt really bad by a cheater, she needs to know that you understand her fragile state and that you would be willing to take a relationship really slow to build her confidence back up. If the cheating thing is not so much an issue any more, I have the following advice. You can approach this 2 different ways as I have in this situation. First of all, you have to ask yourself if she is holding you back from getting with other girls. If not, hang out and be patient. If she likes you, sometimes the togetherness can bring a person much closer and she may decided to go for it. The other approach that I have used is to say, "I have done everything I can make sure you know that I want to be with you, but you keep putting me off and I can't wait much longer." Yes, this is a tough approach, but it really worked for me. Sometimes when you lay a little pressure on the other person, it helps them to clear their head. Of course, I would advise against the pressure approach if she is still reeling from being cheated on.

just take it slow don't be in a rush to get her some woman like a chase some just like to see what you do if you just back off so just take it from someone who knows be her friend and she'll appreciate you even more because you gave her some space but make sure your feelings don't change she just might be testing you to see if you want her bad enough to wait so good luck..
