No - it sounds like you're an introvert (as opposed to being an extrovert). The fact that you have friends is a good thing. If you were Always by yourself, I would say that was unhealthy. But being able to enjoy your own company is a good sign that you are a healthy person.

I enjoy my alone time very much and I know that it has got nothing to do with me being a depressed person. I am more creative when I am alone. Actually the one time I'm really depressed is when I am around people. Ok so I enjoy the company of some people but still I like locking myself in my bedroom and doing my own things. And I still have managed to be very productive and sane. So what I am saying is I don't think it's proof enough that there is something wrong with someone just because they love being alone.

if you love it than you're much more well adjusted than most of the u.s. population. I personally love alone time as well. I like being with my friends and family but i need that me time. There is nothing wrong with that so long as it is your choice and not something you do out of fear or sadness. Sounds like you've got your act together. Now if you start experiencing symptoms of depression, overwhelming sadness, feeling of worthlessness, difficulty sleeping, sleeping too much, avoiding social settings etc then you may have a reason to worry. But from the way it sounds, you're doing well.

Keep having fun :)

No you shouldn't worry about it.. I love being alone.. I have been married for 7 years now and my husband works out of town all week.. May sound bad but i love being her by myself.. I can do what i want when i want .. you just like the solitude.. it is peaceful.
being alone don't mean that you are depressed.
just means that you don't care for crowds of people most of the time. when i want to be around people i go out..
don't invite people over to often .. I go to see them because when i want to be alone. you can't be rude and kick them out.. if you are out of your own home you can leave and go be by yourself.. There is nothing wrong with you..
enjoy your peace and quiet..

A lot of the time I really enjoy being alone. For 31 years I worked in a high stress constant public contact job...everybody wanted something from me....Now I really enjoy being alone....It's been said that people are only really uncomfortable alone..when they don't like themselves.

being alone is not the same as being depressed, if you were depressed you would feel lifeless, and have no desire to even get yourself dressed, make yourself go to work, and have interest in nothing....being alone simply means that you have Peace within and know where you are going. not a bad thing.

Don't worry about it. You do not sound depressed at all to me.
I too am like that, enjoying my own company, there's nothing wrong with this at all.

Don't let others tell you that there is. Enjoy yourself.

WANTING TO BE ALONE IS NO SICKNESS, IT IS A CHOICE. MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR NORMAL LIFE IN ANY MANNER.

I AM A LONER IN ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING CITIES IN THE WORLD & INERACT WITH FRIENDS / COLLEAGUES AT WORK & WHEN NECESSARY, BUT LIKE BEING ALONE OTHERWISE...................
