Hey ulysseangel,

My roots go back to the beginning of time - and so do yours. I have over 8,000 individuals identified in my family tree. This sounds difficult, but it is just a question of spending a lot of time and being organized. These individuals come from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Egypt,.

Once you trace your roots back 10 generations, there are 2 to the 10th power (4096) individuals in your tree. For Each new person you discover on your Family Tree, there are 2 more unanswered questions - who are their parents? So, if you can go back 500 years on some branches, you keep adding to the people. The further back you go, the more likely you will find someone else researching the same family branch. I found people doing DNA research on my family - I never met before. I found people that wrote 12 inch thick volumes on one branch of my family. That was a great find. That book proves that I am related to Charlemagne (millions of people are). Here are some general web sites that can be used. I recommend using the Family Tree Maker software to get organized, there are other packages.

I have traced my family back to bibical times, starting the Adam and Eve, the creations of God. I have revolutionary war heros and civil war soldiers in my family. There are Kings & Queens of Europe, and government officials of Germany. There are pilgrims who arrived on the Mayflower, Laura Ingalls Wilder, U.S. government officials, and many more interesting people. I even have a grandfather who was beheaded by King Henry VIII.

I am 98% German, 0.5% English, 0.5% Swiss, 0.5% French, and 0.5% Sweden.

American, born & bred. But ancestry points to WWII roots - Allies on Mom's side (Frendh, English, Scottish & Irish) and Axis on Dad's side (German, Italian, Croatian & Austrian)...no wonder I'm always at odds with myself!

I know my dads parents are Mayan Indians. My mom was born in Cuba and she was an orphan so I am guessing because she was white with green eyes she was from Europe.
In summary
50% Mayan
50% European
Born in the USA.

Well, I've traced my family back to the middle 10th century (of course with help from other family members that are also into Genealogy) and every last one of them are of Gemanic tribes...so I guess that makes me 100% German.
