hi
depending on the area and time of the day people dress differently. it is still known as the most dressed up city. people love to dress nice and fancy. some prefer comfort to high heels and jewelry, some love hot colors and makeup. anyway, september is one of my favorite months. here is why, its not humid, and not as hot as 2 previous months, but it gets chilly in the evening and morning. i think the best this is to have a long sleeves for those times and short sleeves during day. if u plan to walk a lot, have comfortable shoes, open toe or not. skirts and jeans are popular. nyc is a great place to shop, nothing like it, not even CA.
good luck, hope i helped.

I live an hour from chicago & the weather varies in sept. Like right now we've been in the 60s, but next week they are calling for 80s again. I wish I lived where you did! I dont like the cold very much lol..um for chicago I'd say pack a varity of clothing. Bring a hoodie/jacket, pants, shorts, skirt, t-shirt, and just dress for the weather. Also you could mix/match clothing too...and just enjoy your trip! :) Sept rarely gets cold here in chicago. Maybe ill see you there im heading to the city in a week or so lol

It starts cooling off in NYC in September though you can still get some Indian summer days that are warm. Doubt if you would need anything too heavy though. MAybe a light jacket or sweater for at night.

It really depends. The temperature here varies - it can be anywhere from the high 80s to the low 60s during the daytime.

You can wear summer clothes. Just bring a light jacket should it get chilly.
