good question ,if islam is such a great religion they should not be intimidated by bibles or any other religious book, since theirs is the only true religion.

Saudi Arabia is an islamic country. It allows only islam.

Bibles?

Even crosses (the Red Cross is the Red Crescent in all Islamic countries), drawings of Christ or any other diety (Islam does not allow 'figurative' representation of Holy men/prophets and Gods), meetings of any kind (you may have to go to 'underground' churches if you are a christian!), even photographs sent via post are edited for such material.

Apart from all this, I 'd like to point out that Saudi Arabia is a very nice place to be in, for its very interesting and hospitable people and their unique arab culture.

You can not preach in Saudi Arabia. From what I know when we (a US company) send people there they live in a compound with others from the US and Europe. Inside the compound they can do things like read the bible and listen to western music. When they leave the compound however they MUST obey the law of Saudi, which means they can't do anything religious.

no, bibles are allowed and i have had many of my freinds carrying bibles with them and reading them everyday. some even attend mass. but if ur freind is worried so as to whether it would be right for him to take the Bible along, then he/she always has the online bible on the internet, now bibles are available online. she can very well download it from home or work place and take print outs.

but trust me, many of my christian, buddhist and jewish freinds always have had their Holy books with them when they have been there.

but ya they will not agree for crosses or pic of jesus-pbuh, becoz in case uremember the 2nd comandment 'Thou shalt not make any grave images of God.' islam considers Jesus-pbuh as one of their important prophets so it would not let u give him false image. its mark of respect not to give someone an image not disrespect as others think. God's pics or images should not be in hands and necks, it should be in ur heart.

Yes, its true. But, there are still people who managed to sneaked in some bible. I was with Saudi Oger in Riyadh in 1994 and we are conducting/attending christian bible fellowship. Bible is prohibited, because Allah is their prophet and they don't want to let their people to recognize Jesus Christ as the Son of God. For Islam, they recognized Jesus as a prophet only.
