I want to keep a word document in a PDF format so that nobody makes any changes on that. Is it possible to convert a word document into a PDF format ? If so, how - please write in detail. Thanks

You can, of course, buy Adobe Acrobat Reader which is the program that is normally used to make .pdf files (it's built for it).
Barring that, Adobe has a new service at:

Where you can make unlimited .pdf's for a subscription fee (about $10/month I believe) over the web.

There is a free piece of software called PrimoPDF. You cna find it at www.snapfiles.com. PrimoPDF installs as a print driver/device. After you've installed it, if you print the document in Word, on the list of devices you'll see PrimoPDF. Print using this device and you'll have a great pdf version of the document you can share with other. Been using this software for 2 years on XP without a glitch.
