If all else fails, this is the "brute force" method for converting files:

1) Download Audacity - it's a free audio editing and recording program http://audacity.sourceforge.net

2) Choose "Stereo Mix" as the input.

3) Play the file with the application needed.

4) Save the resulting file as .wav or export to .mp3 format

5) If needed, convert the resulting .wav or .mp3 to the desired format.

Yes, it's a PITA, but it's the only way that I've been able to handle certain weirdly-encoded files.

if you have full real player(full version) not the free one, you can convert them from tools --> convert media format, if not then serach for a free software called
Stramboxripper or Jetaudio, they can convert what ever you want?

go to add/remove programs/set program access and defaults/custom and choose window media player as default....you don't require any converter.
