Depends on the sect. Here is a partial list of Christian sects and their views on homosexuality.

Edit: You have to scroll halfway down the page to find the list.

Absolutely! There are many gay Christians. There's even a Christian denomination by and for homosexuals. It's called the Metropolitan Community Church. http://www.mccchurch.org//AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home That's their webiste, if you're interested. It contains information about being gay and Christian, homosexuality and the bible, etc. I used to attend the Boise branch of MCC before I moved, unfortunately there's no longer an MCC where I now live, though.

If you have any more questions about being gay and Christian, get in touch with me. I'd be happy to talk about it with you.

Hello!! :o) This is an especially difficult question to answer. Especially for someone like ME who is gay AND a Christian. I think many people assume that 'to be gay' means 'to have sex'. But that's not necessarily true. Sexual orientation is not about 'having sex'. For those of you who don't agree with that - I ask, "Do virgins have a sexual orientation?" That all said, and because of my personal struggle to come to some sort of understanding as to what God thinks of it all - I've been celibate by choice for almost a decade now. Part of me wonders if the sex that God forbids between two men is specifically anal sex. [Which is admittedly self-serving since I have no interest in having anal sex] The King James Bible tells us that, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind". [As an aside - it's fascinating how different versions of the Bible word that specific commandment] How else COULD a man 'lie' with another man [given that commandment] other than to penetrate him anally?! But... back to the question. Is it possible to be Gay and a Christian?! I hope so. But it should be said that I don't think a 'yes' answer is necessarily the same as saying, 'Anything goes - have as much sex as you want with as many people you want'. Craig!! :o)

Regardless of what fools say, it is very possible.

Other Christians say gays cannot be Christian because homosexuality is a sin according to the bible.

But then they judge, and the bible says not to judge.

They steal, commit adultery, lie, dishonor (disobey) their parents, lust over their neighbor's wife (masturbate into porn books or porn sites) and much much more.

The Greek word translated into "sin" in the New Testament is an archers term. (You know... the guys who shoots a bow and arrow) It is an archer's term meaning, "to miss the mark" (or bulls eye).

Either you sin, or don't sin. There is no middle. There is no gray area. There is no degree of sin. One sin is not better or worst than another. You either hit the bulls eye or miss it.

SO... WE ALL SIN!

That includes the morons that write answers here, saying you cannot be a Christian if you are gay. Don't listen to fools.

Don't believe the horse sh*t when Christians say they stopped sinning when they gave their lives to Christ. It's a lie.

Many live in fear. Yet the bible says that, "anything that does not proceed from faith is sin". Fear is the opposite of faith. You cannot have faith and fear at the same time. That is cut and dried.

Any action that is not motivated by faith is sin. Worry and fear are sin according to the same bible Christians use to condemn gays.

So if sin prevents someone from being a Christian, then there are no Christians at all.

Jesus paid the price for all sin- past- present- and future. He does not expect everyone to automatically stop sinning when they come to him. He knows you can't.

I am not gay. But I am a Christian, and I am tired of stupid and scripturally-uneducated idiots spouting off trash they do not understand, condemning and judging others all the time, and giving both Jesus and me a bad name. I am ashamed to be a Christian because of them.

The bible says they use milk and not meat. They have not left the simple things and gone on to become full adults in Christ. They are still babies spiritually. They never go past being born again. They have not gone on to advanced learning in the Word.

It is time for the truth to be revealed.

Though I am not a Christian, I do have theories in this matter relating to Christian beliefs.

If God created you, then he did so in sound mind. Sexuality is not a choice, it is a result of your body being the way it is. Therefore IF God made you, he made you with that sexuality.

The argument that your body may have suffered contamination from the Devil is flawed. If God made people over this many centuries, you'd think he would have fixed such a flaw in his design by now.

There's no where in the Bible forbidding a gay man from being a Christian. Read the epistles.

i dont see why not, but i dont know why you would want to put yourself into that position, seeing as how if you tell most christians that you are gay (or that the person is gay, if not you), then they will have definite feelings toward them (and not all of them would be nice).

not sure, but I think it is an abomination to God, as stated in the Bible so if you can accept Jesus who is given to us thru the bible then how can you accept the abomination that homosexuality is portrayed in the bible?

This a more complex subject in that some people are born Gay and that some choose to be Gay......most I think are spawned from the hormones that are injected into our dairy products....but I am not God and I refuse to judge anyone who is gay ,....but just thought i would try to help you in you question. God bless

Do you think God who created you would reject you? The rejection of anyone different is a matter for ignorant humans only. The bible has been greatly corrupted.
Live a noble honest path and you will find the love of God that has never really left you.

No

a Christian means you are a follower of Christ,
I am not truly following him if I live in a sinful lifestyle.
I can know God and be backsliding, but in any case I am not following Christ so. I wouldn't be a Christian
