I know what it is like not to want to sedate them but that will be the easiest thing to do for you and them. Ask your vet about a sedative called Acepromazine (not sure on the spelling) most people just call it Ace. It is what I use to sedate my 3 cats when we go anywhere. Good luck!

You might want to consider crating them. I do not know if you crate them at home, but dogs that are crate trained feel safe in their crate. They see it as their den. Also there are serveral all natural sedatives on the market, which you can buy at most pet stores. There is Good Dog which is liquid and Peteeze both are herbal and are recommended for travel. I have used both when my dog was going to be in a stressful situation, they relaxed him more than anything and had no side effects. There are a couple other real good ones and they do not use harsh drugs.

Well, I can think of a couple of ways to possibly help. One thing you might try is training them to get in the car, and go on shorter trips to help them get used to the movement of the car.
And start getting him used to being in the car. However if you don't have time to help them get used to the car for very long, what you might try is getting him into a pet carrier. And stop every couple hours and let him run around for about 5-10 minutes. And help them by having get into the carrier again.
Also if they hate the car let them know they are loved, and let someone look after them while in the car. That way they might be as upset as they might other wise get. Hope this helps.

i'm guessing you've a vehicle, unlike a jeep or van like that. for the beagle it sounds high-quality to finish that she cant bypass plenty, because you comprehend she will be able to get vehicle ill purely feed her 1/2 at the same time as making use of and then wait slightly and enable her visit the bathroom that could help and nighttime and lengthy supply up cases feed her the traditional volume.at the same time as slumbering it may well be high-quality do exactly not keep her tied up so she do not get aggravated and may't get conferable. for the Chihuahua placed her in her cage once you prefer to or perhaps perchance take her out if someone is prepared to carry her so she isn't so less than pressure out,or you are able to placed toys in his cage counting on how huge and perchance a blanket so he don't sense lonely and scared desire this helps and function achieveable-free force

make where they will be as comfortable as possible. if you have a truck or van that the trunk is connected to the car and blocked off with seats, put blankets down and some toys. Let them just sit in there and get used to it a couple of days prior ro moving. Put them in there and just let them get comfortable. when you think they are ready drive them around the block a few times. See if that works. If you can try not to crate them unless they get out of hand.

Kong toys!
That's what I use.
They are the red ball things. You stuff their fav treat inside and it is so great on any kind of anxiety. It really keeps them busy. Go to Petco or Petsmart, they have them. It's way better than getting them all cracked out on god knows what. Sometimes also when my dog starts wigging out the vet recommend a kiddie benadryl, just one for my yellow lab but anything smaller cut it in half. When my dog got stung by a wasp and her head swelled to the size of texas he dosed her a full one. So one whole benny doesnt hurt, just makes 'em more sleepy.

well I know you said you dont wanna drug em, but there is a slightly different sedative than one form a vet...you can use baby sedatives, they sell em at pretty much any drug store you just put it in their water(you may need to use a couple depending on the size of your dogs)use the weight chart on the box and this wil lnot knock them out but just calm them down a bit....I use this when I have to bathe my cat cuz she completely and totally freaks out, sorry can remember the name of it ask the pharmacist they will be able tohelp you...BEST OF LUCK!!
the kiddie benedryl idea is a good one too!!!

Go to the vet and get sedatives. Not the greatest option, but I had a similar dog and, omg....I couldn't take him for a short ride, forget about a trip.
Good luck.
