My right leg is the one affected. I got this when I was 2 or 3 years old. I am now 60. Thanks.

I'm sorry to say it isn't.

What you have is actually technically post-polio syndrome (PPS) rather than acute polio. The vaccine can prevent new cases. However, patients with post-polio syndrome have lost lower motor neurons (nerves which control muscles) in their spinal cord as a result of the virus. These neurons can not be regenerated.

The only available treatment is physical therapy and rehabilitation, and in some patients electrical stimulation has been used to stimulate and strengthen weakened muscles.

Sorry, I couldn't give any more positive info.

I think that " If you got it when you were young, and the time frame you talk about, you probably have it for life. There is an innocculation system for kids to prevent it . but I don't know if they can cureit.
