He was from the HUMAN race!

He died at the ninth fence in the Melling Chase at The Grand National Meeting at Aintree in 1998. He broke his right hind leg and had to be put down.

A very sad day, particularly as his owner, Jon Hales, had been picked up on the BBC microphones in the paddock shortly before the race giving the old horse a pat and saying something like "come back safe and sound, there's a paddock waiting for you all summer".
