I had the same problem. I'm 6'3" (190.5cm) and 175lbs (80kg) now. I gained weight by working out but not for too long at a time. I keep it down to about 1/2 hour. Any more you will burn more than you gain.
I eat more quantities of eggs, chicken, tuna, salmon, pasta, beans, rice, turkey, potatoes, corn and peas. And I don't skimp on the toppings like sour cream and butter. My cholesterol level is below 150 so I'm not worried about that.
It's better to eat 4-6 small meals a day than 3 big meals. One meal might be a baked potato and a tuna sandwich. Another, a bowl of rice and fruit.
Liquids I drink are: grape juice (any fruit juice is good unless they have added sugar amounts), water, milk and soda (in moderation). Don't go for the energy drinks like Red Bull.
Avoid daily consumption of "junk foods" like: cakes, pies, candy as they will only make you tired. Intake of this food is O.K. but not on a daily basis.
I also take creatine monohydrate and it helps me to retain liquids and give me an energy boost when I work out. Protein shakes help too as they significantly boost your caloric intake.
With this I gained 15 pounds (6.8kg) in 3 months. I never felt better!

Want to gain mass? Breath. Technically, since you are compressing the air in teh process ti is actually slightly heavier than the air in the open atmosphere so you would also be gaining an overall weight after accounting for the buoyancy of the atmosphere...

The Twinkie Diet. Eat one twinkie before each meal. A manager at work (An airforce pilot) does it and he says it works for him. He has your same problem gaining weight.
