Immigrants and national service.........?

Question

How do the young 16 to 25 year old immigrants that enter the uk feel about the possiblity of having to serve 2 years national service on entry to the uk as a way of proving that they are willing to support this small country of ours in times of need.Would you be prepared to move back to your own country's of origin if you didnt wish to participate in national service ???

To the preverbial P.R.I.C.K in the states.Yes i have served queen and country by serving in Iraq and Bosnia x 2 so crawl back in the box buddy.......

I'm another "perverbial prick" from the states, but I feel that if the laws is that they serve, then then serve. They are immigranting to a country and will have to follow the laws, period. If they don't like the laws that are in effect, then they need to go back to their home country.

We don't have national service in the US of A, but our immigrants have to follow our laws. If we DID have national service, then they would be required to do it.

Two years? Arrgh, that's kind of drastic. Ok, it depends on the vacations. If you actually get leave, then 2 years would be fine, but if leave is only for some weekends, then no. If you'd get like a month of summer vacation as they get in sweden and then 11 000 euros in completion of it (as well as getting free tobacco,and mouthtobacco, and cocacola and whatnot)... And if it is like the Danish national service where you get to basically dine out everyday and the state pays for it, I'm all in.
But if it's the hell of the Finnish National Service, then NO.

Leave Immigrants alone! They don't have to prove a damn thing except they want to go to a country and are willing to follow it's laws!! Most immigrants do far more than the rest of you that sit on your butt and denigrate others!

You belong to this country! Have you volunteered for Iraq, or anything else? I didn't think so! What's the matter, your widow can't live on $13,000 a year?
