It is tested. Sometimes it's strong, sometimes it's shaken. Like faith in one's abilities, for example. One day you might feel like you can handle anything, the next day you might get thrown a curve ball and then nothing is so certain anymore.

If you are talking about faith in our Lord Jesus, well that's normal. We need to ask Him to restore our faith. In Matthew there's a guy that said to Jesus, Lord I believe, help my unbelief. Pretty much describes what you are talking about.
But the main thing is to have faith that God will guide you through this life with joy and peace. Don't have a list of specific expectations because then you set yourself up for disappointment and then your faith wanes. God has eternal wisdom that knows what's best for you.
Take care and God Bless!!

FAITH GOES UP AND DOWN because of outside forces surrounding us like lust, pride, and greed. Faith goes down when we say YES to these temptations. But God is faithful and He doesn't want us to be tempted. But once we are tempted, He will also provide a way out so we can stand up in victory over these temptations.

It takes time.
Start with a personal foundation with God and build.
Be patient with God and with yourself. One of life's frustrations is that God's timetable is rarely the same as ours. We are often in a hurry when God isn't. You may feel frustrated with the seemingly slow progress you're making in life. Remember that God is never in a hurry but he is always on time. He will use your entire lifetime to prepare you for your role in eternity.
The Bible is filled with examples of how God uses a long process to develop character, especially in leaders. He took eighty years to prepare Moses, including forty in the wilderness. For 14,600 days Moses kept waiting and wondering, '' Is it time yet" But God kept saying "not yet"
