I dont think that you can if you are buying them at the supermarket. Most the time the produce at supermarkets is well cleaned and searched for any imperfections. But, If you were to go into your local woodland and pick some mushrooms then you would have to check them for bugs and thouroughly clean them before ingesting.

Please be very careful if u intend to pick your own some poison mushrooms can cause an illness called death incurable too!
I would presume just like any produce they can go bad or could be handled by infected hands might even cause Botulism if not properly prepared . I would stick with grocery stores and check for freshness first if you don't cook them wash them.

There are no illnesses that are transmitted by mushrooms as long as they are clean. Some wild fungi are VERY poisonous and can cause death or permanant organ damage but most are safe to eat if you have someone with experience identify them.

The ones at the store are fine. No illnesses. Don't eat anything that came from the woods unless you truly know what you are doing, or trust the gatherer.

Ooooh, it depends on the mushroom. Some are deadly. Look them up on the internet, it's really quite fascinating how much the ones that are okay look almost exactly like ones that can knock you over.

Mushrooms are generally OK - it's the toadstools you have to be very careful of and they can very easily get confused with mushrooms.

You shouldn't get ill from store-bought mushrooms (unless they were rotten!). Either raw or cooked, they are not poisonous.

Well my mum at wild ones and got realy sick after them...so next time we checked them if they had bugz or stuff!
Buy em from the shops..
