There seems to be a popular misconception here that Lidell is weak on the ground. Not true, he prefers to keep it standing, hence his incredible takedown defense, but he's not a dead fish on the ground. The times when he has looked poor on the ground is when he has gassed and against one of the best grapplers ever(Couture). Gassing doesn't seem to be a problem for Lidell anymore. He's not gonna lose anytime soon. He might even retire with the belt, he's like 36 now right? BTW, I heard that Silva and Pride pulled out of the fight and it's not going to happen. Chuck would beat him anyway.

Quintin Rampage Jackson...

UFC missed the boat to sign him when he was a free agent, Rampage has the take down skills to be a bad match up for Chuck. The fact that he can pick you up and slam you down mercilessly over and over again. Chuck has a great sprawl, so freestyle wrestling types or people who attempt shots on him have little to no success. However Rampage doesn't need to get in that deep to drop him.

Wanderlei Silva- Has the striking skills, and the Chin to be Chuck. Chuck can be beat by a more technical striker than him. I don't consider Wanderlei more technical, but he can be. Randy beat Chuck the first time using straight punches to counter his looping style. Another fighter could capitalize on that.

However I don't see anyone in the UFC light heavyweight division with the tools to beat the Iceman. Tito has a shot, though not much of one. Tito has a great work ethic and it's possible he could outcondition Chuck (though doubtful).

But hell, anyone can land a lucky punch, and anyone can be beat on any given day. Chuck could be fighting someone and they just get a shot in that hits just right. You never know.

Silva's armbar will do the trick! He just has to take the punishment standing without getting knocked loopy and take Chuck down FAST! Chuck is amazing, but his strength is standing and just beating the crap out of everyone. Also, Chuck is so well conditioned, it will take someone of Silva's level conditioning wise, to be able to withstand the punishment until he can get him down.

I love Chuck, but he is getting up there in age and one of the young guns will probably get him someday. The Silva dude looks pretty tough.... that's a fight I want to see.

okay first off,i dont see anyone in the light heavy weight today that could take him out of the title. he may be getting older but he is on fire and in his prime. hes a beast. silva may be able to take him down, but thing people dont seem to understand is, is he ehas excellent capability of getting right back up on his feet. he doesnt STAY down. silva is an awsome fighter but not in the ufc. he needs to stay with pride.=) my hubby seems to think that when tito gets his shot hes gonna get the belt back. but thats a joke. tito is not the same guy he was yrs ago, but chuck is still gonna get in his head. basically chuck has it pulled together.

Wanderlei Silva- better striker, stronger, better overall fighter, FEARLESS.
Chuck will want to keep it standing, Silva will destroy him standing or on the ground.

Fedor- greatest mma fighter in the world, best striker, best overall technique, bigger and stronger than Liddell.
Take your pick, Fedor will destroy him anyway you can imagine.

dont know the who, but the how will be with Muy-Thai on the stand-up and then be able to GET HIM ON THE GROUND and tie him up. He got the escape moves, but the ground is where he is weak.
