when muhammeds-pbuh mom AMINA was pregnant with the child down 5 months, muhammed's-pbuh father Abdullah (may Allah bless them both) expired. and after a few years of muhammed's-pbuh birth, his mother also died. muhammed-pbuh was 6yrs old then.
a foster mother named Halimah suckled him and took care of him for about 2 years. it was a custom of Quraish to give new borns to foster mothers for breast feeding.
since he was a child he was raised by his grand father Abdul Mutallib. his grandfather died when muhammed-pbuh was only 8 yrs old. but after his grandfather's death he was taken care of by his uncle Abu Talib (brother of muhammed's-pbuh father), leader of the Quraish tribe and merchant.
the name Muhammed-pbuh means 'PRAISEWORTHY' and Allah knows best. may Allah forgive me if i'm wrong.

haleema was his nurse( nanny ) she breast fed him but he was raised in his uncle's house!!
