I'm doing a presentation on global warming. I aim to inform and persuade my classmates that it is something everybody should act upon. Could you give me insights regarding the topic? Thanks!

Well, Global warming is definately happening.

It says there is going to be more extreme weather.. and in a few thousands of years the world is going to go through major changes.

Already the hole in our ozone is getting larger.
Eventually the ice caps will melt, the water levels will rise, people will have to move inland, the heat will get hotter in the summer, which means more electricity needs will have to be met, and unless we create some innovative ways to conserve and create energy now- we will have a lack or resources to do so- and many will die of heat stroke.

People should try and lower their impact on the growth of the hole in our ozone.. be more aware of their affects. If the human population continues to grow at this rate- without knowledge on how to help our ozone.. the hole will grow larger and more heat and direct rays from the sun will be let in.

There will also be more cancer with the more intense rays (if we don't find a cure)... .and eventually it will become too unbareable on Earth- it will become a boiling pot- and many marine species will be lost- with the increase in water temperature- .... in it's most extreme case -humans will all fry... and the Earth may end up more like the sun in millions of years.

But because it is not an immediate threat- people choose to not believe...because they don't need to worry about it.

Everybody talks about global warming as if it is something new. The fact is that we are in a period of global cooling. Polar ice, even at the polar regions, is rare in the Earth's history. Some scientists think we are still in the ice ages, just at a warmer part of them before the ice returns. Maybe the Earth is tired of how cold it is and is using humankind to raise the temperature that she is accostumed to feeling.

It should be given more serious thoughts. There have been continuous studies that in the future the ice will melt down and water level will rise, some effects could lead to catastrophic occurrences that man can't do anything anymore.

yes it is something to act upon. but!! did you know that most of greenhouse gasses are naturaly produced without man's input? some reckon globa; warming has happened before, this wont be permanent, its just part of the cycle.
but if you want info on causes and effects, you try using Wikipedia.

Recycling and buying hybrid cars is bullshit, they're like someone who quits smoking on his deathbed.
