The best thing you can do for yourself is to keep on night shift or at least close to night shift on your days off. Also, make sure you get enough sleep. Night workers often feel guilty about sleeping late into the day, especially when they have unsympathetic loved ones. Most people need 7-8 hours, make sure you're getting at least that, even if you don't get to bed until 10 or 11 am.

I know it's hard to get sleep during the daytime, but you have to make sleep a priority and protect the time you sleep. Use a mask or heavy curtains, earplugs or a white noise machine, and turn off your phone's ringer. If you have a doctor's appointment or other daytime-only errand, try and schedule it for the end of your shift so that you don't have to get up in the middle of the "night" to do it.

Ironically, I work night shift in sleep medicine, which commonly causes a sleep problem called "shift work sleep disorder" (http://www.sleepdisordersguide.com/topics/shift-work-sleep-disorder.html), so I totally understand you.

See a doctor if it starts to get really problematic for you. Good luck!

I worked nights for many years, on and off. I changed my body clock upside down. I used to treat it the same as day shift. I would start at 10 PM, have a break at 2 AM for 1/2 hour, work until 6 AM, go home, have a shower and something to eat Then keep myself occupied until 12-1PM then go to sleep. I would get up around 8pm, have breakfast then get ready for work. Routine is the key, and uninterupted sleep essential. Diet is very important to also.Try to eat nomally at what are odd times of day or night .Good Luck *;*

In order to get your body acquainted to sleeping during the day, the first day make the room as dark as possible, eat a meal, take a sleeping pill, and off you go. Do this for the first two days and I will promise you that you will not have a problem the third day sleeping. Don't forget to set the alarm clock. I hope this helped.

you have to condition yourself to sleep days with out interuption. You need to be sure to eat regular meals, get exercise and spend at least a little time outside. I did it for years I really actually worked better at night.

Your concern is appreciable but unfortunately you have to find ways and means to coping up with it, from your experience. You have to take into account the minimum number of hours sleep required by you and then to take care of your diet as well.

I'm sorry, but as a night owl, I can't handle daytime shifts worth a damn. Try to eat healthy and get as much rest as you can.
