Many people are blind to the Truth simply because they don't know the real Truth. Many read the bible and make theirown interpretations. Many people hear what they want to hear. I know people that are called "cafeteria Catholics" because they pick what they want from the bible & church and leave the rest alone.

I have learned over the years that lots of people say they are a certain religion and believe this and that but they don't live their lives according to that religion. Sad! God knows who is who.

Education is key but you have to know your facts when you are trying to convert or change people to the truth. If it was that easy, Martin Luther and others would have had it made.

And just being one is not enough at all because what opened your eyes to the truth? Knowledge.

What religion you are does not matter -- any person that blindly just does as told when it comes to eternal life and doesn't have a relationship with Jesus is just as blind as a catholic to the truth.

Be easy with your knowledge -- it works better and people want to listen even the more.

Oh wow. there is a lot unsuitable with this, i'm in simple terms going to make 2 advantageous factors First, i grow to be as quickly as a Catholic for 18 years. I went to church a week with my mom, I enjoyed it. We weren't "Christmas and Easter Catholics" we've been the genuine deal. yet I dont have self belief anymore, i'm an atheist. 2d, Protestants ARE Christians. And so are Catholics. Christian = theory in Jesus Christ you're making Catholics look rather fairly stupid.

Id recommend you know what you are talking about first before making those kind of comments, you should really look into it real deep, it might really open your eyes, and you might turn catholic..., and find your sources correctly, not via some anti catholic web page.

jesus-is-lord.com is a blatantly anti-Catholic website. If you believe what you read on there then you never understood what the Catholic Church really teaches.

Some better sources of information on what the Catholic Church really teaches would be:

http://www.catholic.com

http://www.scripturecatholic.com

http://www.newadvent.org

Or, here is a nice conversion story from a one-time anti-Catholic Bible scholar:

The websites you refer to have nothing to do with the authentic Catholic faith.

If you were indeed Catholic, as you claim, it's very unfortunate that you never took the time to understand the true faith, and to fully understand how God had blessed you.

No one who truly understands the Catholic faith could think as you think.

You have been deceived, and it sounds as though you are still being deceived.

What happened to you?

I am a Happy, Joyful Bible Believing, Following the teachings out of Rome from Our Faithful Pope, Catholic Christian.

If I weren't Catholic Already, I would become one as soon as possible.

I love the sacraments especially Reconciliation and Receiving the Precious Body and Blood of Jesus. You might not feel like you need that. But I wouldn't give it up as long as I am able to worship and live out my Catholic faith.
You don't have to follow this, However I do. And I am so very grateful to God that I can.

This was the Gospel reading at mass on Aug 20, 2006

John 6: 51 - 58
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;
54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever."

It is better to say one Our Father fervently and devoutly than a thousand with no devotion and full of distraction.

Sunday, August 27, 2006 This Sunday's Readings.
Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary time

John 6: 60 - 69
60 Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?"
61 But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it, said to them, "Do you take offense at this?
62 Then what if you were to see the Son of man ascending where he was before?
63 It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
64 But there are some of you that do not believe." For Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him.
65 And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."
66 After this many of his disciples drew back and no longer went about with him.
67 Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also wish to go away?"
68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life;
69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

God Bless You, ;-)
